How does this car handle snow....What about with winter tires or good touring tires?
Same with rain.
And how does these conditions effect handling?
Thanx for input.

In my opinion its a great handling 2wd Snow and rain car,
(I do run the "studless" snow tires in the winter.)

JDR; I passed through central Ohio (PA back to IN) during that blizzard in Jan '05 (probably about the 15th). Made it through without a scratch, saw dozens of people on the side of the road.
Run winter tires, don't be stupid and you'll be fine.

I run Blizzaks in the winter on my stock 15's.

I thought that with a 32x brake upgrade you had to run at least 16's. I have been putting off doing this upgrade (parts are sitting in my garage) because I only have my stock 15's for the winter.

No. The rotors and calipers are the same diameter, just larger width.

90% of what you ask is answered by the tires you choose and their condition. I run Bridgestone RE750 225/50/16's and it sticks like glue in the heaviest of downpours. Almost disappointing. :) In winter I run Blizzaks on 15's. Very controllable but our Passat is much more planted at highway speed in snow. If you will be traveling long distance a lot in winter and have no other car it depends on your appetite for adventure.
BTW my wife just started working with P&G in Mason last month and me and my Ti will be relocating to Mariemont September 1. Maybe we'll cross paths.

I have a 98 active and my rear end was sliding all over the place today (Rained a little), even with ASC+T, with ASC+T deactivated, forget about it. I've practically wiped out many times in my car with it turned off (just to test it). It usually picks up after a few milliseconds and straightens you out though. But today on the way home was pretty rough. Had to keep it slow around corners.

I busted up my passenger side rear tire today around a turn. I do not blame the car for this, but you should be prepared to know what to do in your REAR WHEEL DRIVE car when driving at the extremes. (hint: it's not the same thing you do in a fwd car)
