Having promblems with the Antenna Groument

ok we all know the rubber piece that fits on the bottom of the antenna. well i just purchased a replacement groument cus the old on came off. well i have been trying to fit this damn rubber groument onto the bottom of the antenna. i unscrewed the antenna and tried to fit it on but it wont make it completey down onto the base. does anyone have any suggests. i tired some oil but it didnt really help. maybe some vasoline??? haha:rolleyes:

I just did this a couple weeks ago. I used a dishsoap/water mix and lubed it up. I had to push straight down firmly on the top of the grommet, just outside the hole and it just popped into place. Used a 1/4" socket driver since it had a nice flat face to push with.

Not quite sure it that makes sense....

I tried it first without lube and no way was that going to work.
