When's the cutoff for being able to update your submission? I want to get a new one in with my new headlights et al...I would like to get everyones in by the end of September.
That way it gives use October to vote and November to get it all together in time for the holidays. Last year it was a bit late and we had errors.

I'd like to see everyone who wants a picture to be chosen finish up by the end of the month. Last year it took too long to wrap it up. We (I) had a few mistakes last year.

I have stayed out of the whole calender thing up to now. My feeling is that no one who was in last years calender, should be in this years. Would you buy any other calender with the same pics from last year?

Sure. It could be 20, just post your best shot.

Is it okay if the picture has a small watermark in one of the corners? A friend of mine took a shot for me, and I don't feel right using the shot without his studio watermark on it.

Some people are creative when it comes to photography.
I see no problem using someone's car twice as long as the photo is different.

That and its all fair, a lot of people are putting a lot of thought and care into this, like me for example, I was in it last year but this year im working my butt off trying to find a different location, different angle and I just got the angels on the car so thats something I am very happy and proud of. I also love this site so if I make it that is great, my family was so proud last year and thought it was soooo cool, but if I dont make it this year I hope to see some amazing pictures. But its not really fair to say that because someone was in it last year isnt allowed to be in it this year, its all up to the people on the site to vote and choose what they want to see on the calender.

my family was so proud last year and thought it was soooo cool,

My fiance, dad, grandparents and I all have a 318ti.org calendar hanging in the office. They all think it's very cool that my car was featured in a calendar too!

I just submitted a pic for the calendar, what do you think?

Hello everyone.

I have to go with an old photo I have (attached). I simply do not have the time to detail and shoot my car before the end of the month. This is just a low-res negative scan with no work done yet. Forgive the low quality.

For print, I typically produce at 200-400 DPI at final size, depending on the magazine. I can provide a full-res photo file once complete; however at 8X10@400DPI the file will be quite large...

This one is not bad, but I'm going to have to spend 10-15 hours on it cleaning it up. The photo attached is for voting purposes only, and once the 'final' is ready, I'll replace this one with the new one.

Enjoy!

Mine is posted, I loved my other pictures with the causeway in the BG and the beach but the ti was just too dark, the one I submitted has a nice gloss look and looks aggressive on the calm beach, its just my favorite so I hope you guys enjoy!

So, um.... is there any chance that the submission deadline could be extended until perhaps midnight of Sunday, Oct. 1 ??? I have a photographer friend who's interested in helping me out, but I doubt we can get together until Sunday. That would also give folks an entire weekend to snap pix.

It will be. I'll be at Watkins Glen this weekend and doubt if I will get the voting set up until a couple days later.

This may be a stupid question, but does it have to be TI Specific. I have a great shot with a ferrari, would that be ok...or is it bmw/Ti only?

It will be.
Yay!!! Thanks!!!

A couple of other questions...

Is there any rule stating that the photo has to be taken by the car owner? I didn't notice anything like that. I could take the photos myself, but my friend is a better photographer and this is something that would be good for his portfolio.

Is it OK to include people in the photo? I have a couple of ideas that include people, if I do those, I'll probably go ahead and get a model release form signed.

Thanks!

I'd have to say, ti only. And the photo also must denote that it is a ti.
No front shots. Side, angle or rear.

Hmm.. I can't seem to be able to upload a picture to the calendar section.. It doesn't show the calendar section as a place to upload to. I was just going to add in a photo I took of my car to see if it would make it. It's in my photo gallery as Night_022 right now.

Also, does the photo need to be 2400x1800 or is that the max because the photo gallery seems to reduce the image size anyhow?

I can move your photo to the gallery. Which one?
The gallery software does reduce the image but I believe I can still download the original. Besides, if everyone starts off with a high rez it will be more uniform in the end and I assume people will save the original.

I think the car is nice, and the pic is killer. But I dont think it should be picked because 1, it was obviously dramatically edited. 2, I was looking more at the lake and the tree, as opposed to the actual car. The focus isnt in the right spot.... In my opinion. Though it is a bad ass car, and a very nice pic.

I Think rules should be set for touched up pics. The only thing that should be touched up are very minor things. Id say along the lines of make if you take a pic at an awkward angle, and you photoshop off a glare. Maybe if you have a real high res pic, and you got a piece of bird crap on your windshield you didnt think about before the pic. Something small like that. I Think everything should be untouched after that though. Otherwise I Can take a pic of my car on my sandy driveway, and make it on the beach in Maui.

It wasnt too dramatically influenced as you are saying...it's not like he took the pic and then transposed it into another. He just enhanced the color. and why not have an awesome background? Its not like the car isn't in focus, or view. Though it is small, you have to look @ the whole picture. It represents something other than the car too. I love tihs picture. It captivates alot!! I agree for october! and when does the voting start?

I don't really have a dog in this fight (i.e. no picture in the running), but IMHO, the purpose of the calendar is not to "get your car picked", but rather to make a calendar that maximizes enjoyment of the ti for all... I say, let people edit away, and let the votes speak for themselves...

Very good point. IF the rule wasnt stipulated, then it should be fine. Either way, I Wasnt knocking the pic or the car. I Said they both looked great. I just thought it was kinda supposed to be more of a natural, actual pic, and color.
