View Full Version : Just checking

I installed my reman halfshafts yesterday. I was tapping in the spines on the wheel side, and forgot to remove the ABS sensors. I did that both times. Not sure if the tooth wheel was at the sensor head when I realized what I had done. I removed both sensors, added a washer and installed them back in. There are no CEL or ABS warning lights on my car. Can I assume both sensors are working fine?

I have the Peake tool, and I guess I can just check for faults. Another idea would be just to slam on the brakes and see if the ABS kicks in.

Any comments?

what kind of shafts did you use w/ 3.64? Stock Ti? or something else?

how much did they cost?

Sorry this isn't really helping, I'm just curious on my end.

I'd just go to a quiet back road and brake hard, it easy to get the ABS working. I suspect that since there is no code your OK. I'd test it once on purpose rather than find out later it isn't working...

I now have an E28 3.46 LSD with 1990 325I E30 flanges (new) and 1990 325I E30 reman halfshafts.

but, also the stock Ti flanges and shafts worked with the e28 diff?

god the cross-overs of generations/models is confusing as hell.

a dirt road would work well too in deterining if you ABS was still working

I tried it last night, it was wet out. Worked fine, so I guess that means all my ABS sensors are working.
