My mechanic just informed me the CEL came on b/c O2 sensor and TEMP sensor need to be replaced. Would these two sensors have anything to do with the oxygen to gas ratio?

What temp sensor is he talking about. The O2 sensor will cause a CEL though.

^The O2 sensor will definitely have something to do with the air/fuel ratio. What it does is read how much gas is left unburn and relay that info to the ECU. The ECU then adjusts the A/F ratio to compensate for a rich or lean condition. Usually when an O2 sensor goes out, the car will go into a sort of safe mode and run a little extra rich, which can also (over time) destroy catalytic converters. This will lower your gas mileage and horsepower, and will throw a CEL

^Like Blue asked, which sensor? there are many possibilities here (EGT, ECS, AIT, some of which might not apply to your vehicle, but we need to know what to look for)

Ooh, Sry... I just realized this thread is old... plz forgive me
