How do I bend the selector rod?

If I don't have a vise or torch, how should I bend it? Any suggestions?

Good question. I think you will need atleast a vice. I used a Benzo-matic torch and a vice. You should be able to borrow one from a friend right?

I used a brick and a hammer... worked well for me.

It really helps to have the car right there, after making your bends. That way you can put it in, and see how centered the knob is, and if not correct bend again.
