UPDATED

So ive been talking with M3_Killer and CoolJess and theyve asked if we should put together a meet.

UPDATE: The June 16th meet was a good turn out, and everyone who showed up decided that we will have a meet every second saturday of that month

Cruise? Definately! in a straight damn line, side by side eachother, triangler, or a box should be fun. We will meet in Ihop, go to angeles crest, then go to Malibu. Within time on what we all decide, we can change our plans and routes for the next month.

Maybe we can park all of our cars together, and have a calendar 2008 picture ready :smile:

After we eat, we will go up to Angeles Crest and have a drive up and take pictures of 2 great locations we found.

After Angeles Crest...who ever else wants to go (hopefully all the same people) we will take a drive passed santa monica into malibu. Depending if people want to stop at the beach or not, we can either go swim, or kick at the beach, or continue doing a caravan past Santa Monica and cruising down Pacific Coast freeway.

Lets have every person hang out the whole day. Best assure we will be using roughly 2/3 of a tank but itll be such a fun.

Make plans to have the whole day off (you have a month to try to get the day off) and im almost sure itll be a fun day.

As far as video and footage, im not good at this stuff so if you got a friend bring him along.

Open to suggestions..............

Please guys...No burning out, launching, revving the hell outta your engine, drifting, or acting plain retarted.

u know im down lol we can do it anytime ill take off work to come! i got a great idea theres a parking lot over at CV park in La Crescenta where theres never any cops and its just a chill place. As for the cruise we can go down to Angel's Crest like you said make a vid and take pics over at the look out points that over look the city. Its a perfect canyon location for the pics and the roads REALLY fun lol

lmaoo ive seen it/heard it MANY time down here in angles crest ...you drive up for 15 mins u see so many crosses on the side its not a good site to see =/

I think the canyon drive would be realy cool. I drive through those canyons just about every weekend. Sure there are crosses but not so many. Its about having fun safely, ive never really pushed my car through any of those turns, but still had a blast spinning a tire on the way up :).

I'm game to drive in the canyon's we can post someone up on top of an edge to get a shot of us coming around a turn in a line fashion. or a line of us on the edge overlooking the ocean. Those of you who know that area would really know some go to shoot a picture. Just say when,

what fun is a canyon ride if you can't go fast??? :wink: I went on a ride with a bunch of R32 people, and now THAT was fun!! I thought I was going to end up as one of those crosses for a bit, but it was all worth it!

I agree lets pick a canyon now to give others time to drive it and get a feel for the canyon before we go as a group. Anyone know a good camera person? I will go to the Art bldg at campus tomorrow and try to make a friend (wink) Let's pick a canyon. I have not done any LA canyons only the Hwy 74. Does it matter I will take a spin in the one we pick this weekend to get my baby and I used to the turns. (safety first)

I would be interested in taking a spin too. I have driven Angeles Crest many times, and it is a fun drive. As far as when, May 12/13 I'm instructing at the San Diego Driving School at Buttonwillow. May 20th is the LA Chapter Clean Car contest at the Queen Mary in Long Beach - Joint event with MINI's and Porsche's. May 26th might work, but I have to be in Big Bear on the 27th. June 2/3 I am putting on the LA Chapter Driving School at Willow Springs, that is when I usually take Angeles Crest to Lancaster, beats Hwy 14 in time and fun both.

Monday the 28th of May would be a good day, or the 2nd and 3rd weekend of June.

Too much to do, Not enough time to do it all.

Heres what im thinking...

We meet at Ihop at 11am/12pm at Glendale. We eat up, hang out, what not. If you guys dont want to eat at a restaurant, we can also go to Rally's Burger in Glendale. From Glendale we take the 2N to go towards Angeles Crest. I am not to sure how far into the canyons you guys want to go. Im thinking 15 miles go, bust a b!tch, come back down again. Get some great pictures and shots up the mountain. From there im thinking it would be before 4pm still and we should head down to the beach. We should drive past Santa Monica (on the 10 freeway) going passed Malibu (ive never been passed Malibu) and maybe well find some nice spots to take pics too. Then drive back and hang out at Santa Monica for a little bit and from there, we can just hang out, take it to another place, or we all go home.

I understand its a lot of driving and gas, but every when do we get to do this. Maybe we all go through the canyons and some of us continue going to the beach. I would really like for all of us to hang out the whole day.

Im also open to suggestion to where we want to eat or how we are going to take the cruise.

no but i have a GREAT idea i got my car from Redondo beach and i LOVED that placee!!!! great nice lil town. We can go out there in the morning get new pics down chill for a bit. Theres this greatttt restaurant called "Good Eats" .....best breakfast ive had! We meet there at 10 have breakfast and chill then drive down to either the malibu canyons or the angels crest canyons mess around take pics and either call it a night or go down to burbank have some more food and more chilling........thats my idea lol

i think i know where your talking about...the shrimp is fresh daily right? place is bombbbbb so its Redondo beach?? im really down for that especially good eats you guys will die for that breakfast there....and because its a beach side restaurant it hits much better too. The date lets make it a Saturday so we can spend the whole day knowing people wont have plans and what not.

For anyone who wants to come to the mini meet, itll be tommorow (wednesday) at 3pm at Rally's Burger in Glendale. Brand Ave & San Fernando.
If youve been to glendale and youve been on that one street wheres full of dealers in each block and each side of the block, your in the right street. Keep doing down and youll see rally's. Or if you know the area, there used to be a Kmart and theres a sex shop on that street (san fernando), keep going down and youll see rally's right before you hit Los Feliz (where best buy is). Anyway, M3_killer and I will be there.

Any of you guys going to bimmerfest?I live about 20 miles south of Santa Barbara, so if you're coming up this Saturday we should meet up here in Ventura. I won't be able to stay very long since I have to work that night, but I'm definately going. As for the mini meet, I probably won't be able to make it but when we do the BIG Socal Ti thing, I should be available. Anyway, let me know if anyone want's to meet up in Ventura between 7:00-8:00am. Bfest starts @ 9:00am. Get those Ti's washed and waxed friday evening!!!

Well i had time to actually go through every page. I was very surprised to see how many people lived in SoCal. I got 53 names, and those are just some of the names i decided to write down. There was probably another 50 or so with no posts or less than 5. So i wrote down 53 names and maybe half of the 53 maybe dont have a TI no more or arent registered no more.

C'mon guys, 3 weeks is plenty of time to cancel plans, get time off work & make arrangements. Hugo's been talkin about this for a couple of months now and he's went out of his way to email each and every one of you. Bimmerfest'07 was a joke, there were only six or seven Ti's and they were spread out all over the place. I'd like to see "Tonyyy" and "clex" at the meet too. And especially "1LoudTI" with his 1 of a kind LSB(laguna seca blue)Ti.

This can be really huge since Socal has the largest# of Ti's, or it could turn out pretty ****ty if people flake out or make excuses. Imagine a group photo of 40+ Ti's parked in formation along the beautiful PCH, and then think about how screwed up it would be if you didn't show up. We're talkin 2008 Calendar action here guys/girls. Lets make this one happen.

Don't sweat it dude, just show up. We're not autoXing or doing anything crazy. Just a get together where we could finally meet eachother, put a face to a screen name and take some photos. I requested in my last post that people bring code readers/reset tools, fender rollers and spare parts for sale/trade/free or anything else that the community could use, to the meet. My hope is that this will encourage people to attend. If for nothing else, just show up and shoot the **** with a bunch of nuts about the Ti.

Here are somethings id like for you guys NOT to do in whatever parking lot we stop on....

Dont burn out/launching
Dont drift around the lot

We can do this if we find a good open and dead parking lot. But if we are in the parking lot of choice to eat, please dont do it. And trust me, ive seen it in a meet i go to on thursday where people act retared. A guy in a mustang was drifting around the lot (which wasnt that big by the way) and almost hit a buncha people and cars. Until some guy stood infront of his car and told him to calm his as$ down before he whipped his as$ and tear his car apart.

Im also hoping that this meet turns out great. We dont want to ruin it on our first try. I was also thinking we can have a meet every 2 or 3 weeks, probably would work better for us who lives local.

I just remembered the Ihop i chose is pretty small. Most likely we wont be able to all sit in one table. But i chose this Ihop cuz its very close to the freeway we need to take to go to Angeles Crest (which im planning to go right after we have lunch).

Anyway, Thanks again guys and lets get more people involved.

Common guys. Im not happy with 9 people. For me to be "ok" i want to see ATLEAST 15 tis. If you guys are going to be there for sure but havent voted (list) DO IT NOW.

Holy Sh!t. Forget what i said. After putting all the names together and going through the thread there are 20 people who said they are showing up. Forget about Rally's, there wont be room for us to park there.

Sh!t WOW, seriously, i have a feeling we wont all be able to park in one same spot or row, thats just to many IN A GOOD WAY. And this Ihop is pretty tiny. I dont know man, i think we will have to rent this place out that day :tongue:
UNLESS, you guys want me to make reservations at Spaghetti Factory in Hollywood for that one room. But that will be a LONG drive from Hollywood to Angeles Crest. Unless you guys want to go from Hollywood to Malibu, but ive never been to those canyons.

Tommorow (friday) im going to stop by at Ihop and im going to see what i can do. I know they wont stop business for all of us (which they should). Thatll be a 2 weeks notice. I think the capacity of that place is like 40-50 people.

I HOPE ALL THE 20 TI'S (NOT PEOPLE, BUT 20 TIS) WHO SAID ARE GOING ACTUALLY DO GO!!!

Don't forget to bring tools/spare parts to loan, rent, trade or sell. Anyone with OBD scanners, fender rollers(I hope someone brings one of these!!!) SRS reset tools, Bentley manuals and metric socket sets, please remember to bring them. I'll be bringing some spare parts and maybe Autozone's OBDII scantool if anyones interested. Most importantly, DON'T FORGET THE CAMERAS!!!

Edit; Just thought I'd throw in that if anyone needs help with mechanical issues, I'll be more than happy to offer my knowledge and services at the meet, free of charge of course. Just hit me up and I'll take a look at your car.

Ok so i went to the Ihop in glendale and indeed this place is WAY to tiny. Most tables were just 4 people tables. I had a hard time walking through there just to speak with a manager. The manager said if it was in the weekday maybe she could have reserved but the weekends gets to crazy in that place. So now im thinking of another Ihop which i know has an outside patio with long tables. So im going to stop there today on my way to work and see if i can arrange something. Its ok cuz we can still get the freeways to head to angelest crest so its not to far off. If this ihop doesnt work, we can do 2 things, wait in line while for people to eat and leave and at the end wait till everyone has ate (which will take ALOT longer since its a restaurant) or take it somewhere else like a fast food place.

UPDATE

Ok guys good news, i just called that other Ihop and they WILL reserve us the outside patio. And i asked him about tables and they could put us in one big table. I had it reserved for June 16th and i told him give or take around 12:30pm. BUT i want people to be there at 12pm and those running late could be getting there at 12:30pm. We will be parking in the far backside of the restaurant. At the very back, theres a good section to park in reverse, i would say like 15 cars in a straight line? So get there early guys so we can take up that whole back parking. Unfor. i cant reserve that spot, haha.

THIS IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN....

After we eat at Ihop depending what time we get done eating...we will hang out at ihop until 3pm. At 3pm, we will head to angeles crest BUT, we are going to stop by at In-N-Out which is on the way. We will go to In-N-Out and hang out for just a little bit and wait for those who are running late (those who couldnt make it to ihop but will show up later). By 3:30 we will start heading out to Angeles Crest, do whatever we gotta do up there (pics, videos, etc) then from there go to Santa Monica.

So ive been talking with M3_Killer and CoolJess and theyve asked if we should put together a meet. Ive told them once my car gets back on the road, ill def. be interested in starting one. Now, i have noticed that there are atleast 10 Tis in SoCal now (well atleast registered here).

My car is rolling into a shop hopefully this weekend awaiting fixing and a new paint job. So im thinking 2-3 weeks tops before i start driving it again.

The dates i have in mind are either. May 19, May 26 or June 1st.
As for location, im open to suggestions.
As for what time, i say during the day like at 4pm and grab some food.

Cruise? Definately! in a straight damn line, side by side eachother, triangler, or a box should be fun. I was thinking either crusing to the beach maybe Santa Monica and take the coast passed Malibu or the Canyons of Angeles Crest. Id like to cruise while there's still light, and also during the night, so i guess during sunset should be fine.

Maybe we can park all of our cars together, and have a calendar 2008 picture ready :smile:

Lets have every person hang out the whole day. Best assure we will be using a full tank but itll be such a fun day and you wont regret it.

Make plans to have the whole day off (you have a month to try to get the day off) and im almost sure itll be a fun day.

As far as video and footage, im not good at this stuff so if you got a friend bring him along.

Open to suggestions..............

I just got back from the meet 10:10PM :eek:

I have to say, i was a little dissapointed to see only 7 cars showed up outta the 22. But there was like 14 of us or so. But I had a blast. It was fun, it was kool. We found GREAT spots up in angeles crest for filming and pictures. We went about 30-35minutes passed Santa Monica and it was very nice. We also found another GOOD spot for taking pictures up there. We had people turning heads, other bimmers giving us props. We actually found another Ti on the highway but he just kept dogging me and wouldnt follow us, so i had to blow smoke in his face :tongue: LoL J/k.

Among us, we have decided that YES there will be a meet once a month and we decided on the second saturday of that month. Maybe those 15 cars that didnt show up can show up on next months meet. For the next month, we will do the same route we did today to have more pictures of more cars and well think of new plans along the months.

ID LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE WHO CAME OUT TODAY. EVEN LAZOH HE STRESSED ENOUGH TO COME OUT WITHOUT HIS TI :rolleyes:

Since I forgot my camera:mad: I've got to get my cousin to send me the pics and video we took. Hopefully I can post them by end of day, but we'll see. Its Father's Day and I'm a bit busy. I kept looking back when you were behind me. Your exhaust is LOUD!

Here's a few of my pics from the meet. We had a total of 9 members show up. I was a little disappointed but not suprised. It was nice to finally put faces to screenames. Everybody was really cool and it was a pleasure to meet all of you guys. 30yrMbr had an exceptionally clean car. On the way up to Angeles Crest, we passed a car turned over on it's roof. Hugo managed to snap a shot of a random e36 in Angeles Crest that stopped across the street from us to take a leak. There were only 4 of us that did the Malibu run up PCH. The drive was really fun and we all managed to stick together in heavy traffic and nobody got pulled over despite our playfulness. The coyotes chased us out of Malibu shortly after the sunset. Anyway, thanks to everyone that attended, I had a great time. Hope to see more of you guys next month.

No way dude. Jimmy's car was by far one of the sweetest Ti's ive ever seen. I kept looking back at my mirrors to see his car when he drove behind me. After a while i got bored of driving in the front so i let Jimmy take lead. I kinda wanted to stay in the back, but i would have had to SLAM my brakes to end up behind Chris cuz you guys (chris and jess) were to far back driving to slow, but thats just me :biggrin:

Ive tried asking the lead at my job if i can get every second saturday off and he was acting all retarted about it, i should drop that fool. I told him, either way, we gotta rotate schedules where one week i get a friday off, another week a sat, and another week a sun, so that everyone gets a chance to get those days off too (im a closer) and whatever. Ill ask the other lead cuz were kool and i know hell hook me up.

I got a problem guys....

Its gonna be impossible to get every second saturday off. Im trying hard to get the next month off. Here's what i can do.... For sure there's a meet once a month BUT sometimes it could be on the first or the last week. It could be a saturday or sunday. And the bad part is, i would only be able to tell you guys 1 week in advance. If i get a sunday off, then i can only tell you guys 2 days in advance. I can try switching days with someone every second saturday but that cant always work.

Alright guys, I just came up with the greatest idea! Inspired by the movie "Old School" I've decided that we should start a fraternity. All of us can pitch in a couple thousand bucks and we'll buy a small house with a BIG-ASS garage. Anyone in the area down to show up at Eagle Rock tonight at around 9:30am-10pm.

Me and harold (lazoh) will be there. It'll be in the walgreens/starbucks in eagle rock at colorado/eagle rock BLVD across the street from blockbuster. Down the street from Eagle Rock Mall (not going towards glendale).

I'll try to make it out. I tried to go to the meet last night in Walnut, but no luck finding them.:shakefis: Call me up around 9PM 3105056992.

Hey guys, i get next saturday off (June 30) if you guys just wanna hang out. We can skip the eat at ihop and we dont have to go all the way to malibu. We can hang out at Ihop and maybe just go to angeles crest or somewhere not to far. We can just hang out local and take pics. Like a mini meet and then July we can do the same thing with the Ihop brunch, angeles, and malibu from the June 16th meet

Any one kool with that?

I will not be able too this weekend, but I am putting time trying to workout the 14th. Let me know what you guys/gals think about this. Ok when we meet up, those of us/you WHO know how to do simple stuff like change an O2 sensor, replace Fuel Filters, reset Oil Code, etc... before we get together for the meet take a vote on a topic/repair and learn how to do these things. I can talk to places to give us a HUGE discount if we make one huge order. Those of you who know shop owners that would allow us to make minor repairs there would be awesome as well. Let's make a learning thing as well. We do not have to do the repair thing every month, I think you get the idea. Then we can take pictures and post on the form here for others to see how to do it.
