Ok, I have no idea what the coolant output pipe is. All I know is it is in the back(?) of the engine and it has to be replaced. My repair guy hasn't yet looked at the car, my appointment is tomorrow. Can anyone give me any info about this or correct me if I am wrong. I have been searching for a diagram of the engine and output pipe but can't seem to find on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the picture. Do you know anything more about the output pipe? Also, where did you find the picture? Thanks again so much!

That plastic coolant line is the one that goes along the top of the engine underneath the intake manifold. The one that is in the back of the engine is shaped like a "y" and is part# 11531743679. It's #9 in this diagram:

There's only 2 bolts holding it on, but it's a PITA to access. Someone said that it's easier to get to with the valve cover off. Since it's only a 8 dollar part, you might want to consider doing the work yourself. Also, I'd recommend replacing the part that Marleymon mentioned as that line is notorious for breaking as well.

Hey thanks for your helped. I took the car to the specialist. He said (without yet looking at the car) that what he thinks I am talking about is a pipe that is a cast piece with the engine head(?). If so I have to replace the head or he has to drill out the pipe and put in a new pipe with a pipe fitting. That is basically what I understood and remember. He should be calling me within the next couple of hours. Hopefully it is something easier than that. I will keep you posted.

Hi thanks for all the help. The repair guy called. Turns out it wasn't the "coolant outlet pipe" the one casted to the engine head. IT was a plastic coolant flange that broke. So not so bad. Should have my car back today. THank all!

I just recently replaced the #9 plastic Y on the back of the engine. That was a pretty hard job. Not much hand space behind there! I might be able to help someone if they have questions on doing the #9 installation.

Hey i need to replace the #9 pipe. My engine is leaking coolant and its coming from the back of the block and i think what u have done will fix the problem. Was the job really hard? Do i have to replace any other parts to get to this one? could u walk me thro on the replacing the part?
