I've never heard of a brake fluid light. Are you sure it's not the brake pad wear indicator? If so, "Viper3812" is selling a Brake Pad Wear Sensor (http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15599) for $6+shipping(normally $20 at the dealer) and "IndianaTravis" is selling a set of HAWK HP Plus Track/Autocross Pads (http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15561) and a set of HAWK HP Plus Street Front Pads (http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15494). As for the location of the brake fluid resevior, its the white plastic resevior on the driver's side of the engine bay, just forward of the brake booster if I'm not mistaken.

Fluid change indicator is a euro only thing. US cars never had that indicator.

Are we talking about a change indicator or a low fluid indicator? There is a sensor in the brake fluid reservoir cap. I've always assumed it was for warning of low fluid, but I've never let mine get low enough to test that. Top up the fluid and see if the light goes off. You may want to have the fluid replaced. I would guess that if the previous owner let the level get too low, they probably weren't changing it on a regular basis. You might want to check for leaks, too.

The fluid reservoir is the one that says brake fluid on it. No joke.

On the left (driver's side) near the fusebox. There is a yellow icon on the cap, with a sensor wire connected to it.

Are you sure about that? I thought I saw that indicator on my dash once light up.
