Hey. I could use some opinions or experience here. Which of these kits are the best in performance? And can someone verify that all of these will fit a 96 TI. I think they do but just some reassurance would be great. Thanks.

BavAuto coilovers:
Part #SK SU80BM02

Bilstein BTS:

Eibach kit:

I'm leaning towards the eibach kit. Looks good. Any other suggestions for different kits would be cool too. You kind of notice the price range.

The bavauto coilovers # doesn't show, but the other 2 setups are not for the ti. Those are for the regular 318s. The best setup that most people like and that I have myself is Bilstein Sports and bavauto springs, great setup and price. The difference with the price on the Bilstein BTS and Eibach kit is probably because of the added sway bars.

You have to search by part # SU80BM02

I'd give my opinion, but I would just be talking out of my ass, i dunno anything about suspensions. Sorry

Thanks man. You wouldn't know where or if I could get that eibach kit for the ti do you? I'll look into that setup you have, I've seen it around alot. You like it?

For the same price as the Bilsteins, you could get the Konis, which are easily adjustable from the engine bay.

If you're looking to just lower the car and firm it up a bit... get the Bilsteins and some springs (or possibly that Eibach kit). If you're looking to do driving events (DEs, Autox), you're better off with the Konis/H&R Sport combo, or the CoilOver setup (I don;t know much about the BavAuto branded ones though).

So you think Koni are better than the Bilsteins performance wise?

depends on what you want to do with them.

If you want hard, and don't plan to tweek: Bilstein Sports.

If you want to hard on performace days, but some comfort for everyday: Koni

Both are very good dampeners. Although the 100$ differance between Konis for the Ti and Bilstein Sports does help to make the judgement too.

I know someone with a Alpina e24 Turbo, and he's got Konis in the front and bilsteins in the back.

I'll look around at those Koni's. So if I get Koni's with BavAuto springs would I need to worry about negative camber?

don't get BavAuto Springs.

koni rear shocks are garbage. get some monroe's!!!!!!!!! cheap, cheap. not that bad actually, better ride than koni reds as they are gassed.

The H&R race springs look good but almost too much lowering in the front. Anyone have these so I could see a picture?

What springs do you suggest for the monroe's?

Jean H.318TI

H&R race springs are for racing not for daily draving and the monroe is garbage too only one year and their gone so buy bilstein sports and H&R sports springs or bavauto performance springs

have you even had monroe's for your ti?

the koni's lasted less than a year and at least the monroe's come with a proper warranty.

the monroe's are to be used with m-tech springs.

Yeah I think I might go with bilstein and h&r sports. Alot of people seem to like them.

Would I need camber correction with that setup?

With Sports, no, you shouldn't need camber correction. And although you appear to have already made your choice, I'll toss this info in anyway: stay away from the BavAuto coilover kit. It is the same "SuperSport" kit sold by Bekkers, and it doesn't have the greatest reputation. All the reviews I've read say that they start off great, but the shocks either start leaking or blow out altogether after less than a year.

You still haven't told us what's your intended usage. It's hard to recommend anything, if you don't let us know what you are trying to accomplish. You mentioned "performance" a few times, but that's awfully vague.

If you're looking for a "set-it-and-forget-it" compared to "I want to occasional track events and still have street comfort", I would think that people would then recommend two totally different things. (at least I certainly would)

O right. I'd use them for street comfort yet the occasional auto x. Thanks for the tip on BavAuto.
