Well not really BUT, my parents decided to give me my Bday gift a little early. But i had told my parents that whatever i got for my Bday i was going to save up for my suspension upgrade. My dad had asked me how much the springs costed and i said around $200 bucks. So my mom gave me clothes and a new chain cuz my other one was getting old. And my dad gave me $225 dollars which will cover the springs. Now i just gotta come up money for the shocks.

Watch out guys cuz Hugo is gonna drop!

Springs are cheap. You should have hit them up for the struts.

Yea most likely H&R Sports. I dont want to drop the car that much. 1.4 front and 1.0 rear sounds kool to me.

LoL, thanks for the comment, i wish i can make the pic a little bigger

Yea im gonna go with H&R sport springs. 1.4 front and 1.0 rear is a nice drop for me. I dont wanna go anything lower.

Question is, what shocks should i go with now?

Bavuato = 1.25 front, but for some reason it looks lower on my car. Look at my avatar and other pics I post around or in the gallery possibly.

H&R sports w/ Bilstein it is.
Can you provide me with a link or the exact name of the bilstein shock/strut/absorber (whatever that thing is called) i need or should go for cuz they have different ones.

I was told that i might need to get something plates and a camber kit i think it was?

Just look for Bilstein Sports for the 318ti and your good. You don't need camber plates on a sport setup, but you need new rear shock mounts.

for shocks the cheapest I found was tirerack
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?&make=Bilstein&model=Sport+Strut&group=Sport+Shock&autoMake=BMW&autoModel=318ti&autoYear=1996&autoModClar=&partNum=F4.VE3.4402.H0&perfCode=S

So i gotta get one left, one right, 2 rears?

Why didnt they just do a kit where you get 4, and a discount for getting all 4.

adamud

Because someone may only need one, say if they ran into something on the passenger side of their car and messed up the shock that is on that side, then they may only need one shock.

But yes, you do need to order one left one right and two rears.

Is there anyway you can drop the H&R sport springs and keep the stock suspension?

If by that you mean install lowering springs and keep the stock shocks, you could but it will wear out the shocks quickly. Then you will have to remove everything and reinstall new shocks.

do you need rear shock mounts with the bts kit?

(sorry if off-topic, i figured not too-off)

It's a good preventative measure, and for a small amount can add some reassurance that you're not tearing your upper shock mounts to pieces while making things stiffer (placing more stress on the RSM)

e46 M3 RSMs work well, not expensive

I gotta say, i love my set up. A lot of things have changed. But hey, i cant complain when i only spent like 100 bucks outta my pocket.

Yeahhhh, Koni SA's and H&R Race should not be that much, whatsoever.

Ripped off much ? Or is that what Johnny had on the car before hand ?

H&R Race for the z3 roadster. Lowered my car about 2.5 front and rear.
