I don't know about you guys but we have tons of photos and odds and ends of requests to see wheels on the cars. Think we can start posting or moving some photos here for reference?

17" FOX EVO 6 from my previous Z3....Dunlop M2 snows on for now. I went from 15" to these 17"'s and could notice an instant DECREASE in handling and slower off the line.....(probably too large for the car/HP etc...but it's go or show I guess)

OK, since Marv posted chrome, I will too. I've attached the Chrome Style 55's that were installed by the previous owner. The replacement wheels (Style 43's) are in my kitchen awaiting the funds to install them. LOL

Both the 55's and the 43's are 16" E46 fitment.

(psssst... by the way... the 55's are for sale! )

I know others have posted sweet looking pics of these wheels here, but I just got these M68s yesterday, and I couldn't help myself - CDN$800 with rubber - check out my other pics to see the FRD wheels they replaced. Here they are, my 17" Mille Miglia II's with 225/40 tires all around.

First shot is before the bavauto sport springs.

http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p312/xgcgrimm/DSC00512.jpg

Second is after the springs. (and some dirt and snow)

The drop is WAY more noticeable without the weird lighting. Sorry, its late and gloooomy outside.

They are called RD1´s and are really rare :)

the RD2´s (open spoke) are the model after yours.

I think they just tried to keep up with the "schnitzers" ´s ..

Actually, those are the RGQ wheels. I have them on my 'ti as well. The basic 5-spoke wheels with a covered centercap are called RGP (their first 5-spoke wheel), the rounded 5-spoke are RGS, the rounded 5-spoke with a lip are RGQ.

Oh yeah, here they are on my car:

New Wheels; Joined awhile back had a ton of issue with my dasc; ended up having the blower rebuilt by DA. When i picked the car up it had in my opinion possibly the most hideous wheels ever that had no business being on a light sports car. After taking care of the issues under the hood I moved on to the wheels... here are some shots, the first is with just the rears switched out.

The new wheels are RUFF racing 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rears... the old ones weighed over 50 lbs per wheel... friggin ridiculous 6203

Hmm we have all these pics of wheels what is possibilty that each member list their suspension set-up so if some one likes it. They could duplicate it?

Or is there a Suspension thread like that? We had one on www.e30tech.com called show me your drop.

It listed shocks springs and rubber spring pad thickness and then in inches height to wheel arch from ground.

Pics attatched, What do you think?

I love the deep dish on the back wheels, and the very sticky tyres that are wrapped round them, im enjoyings my TI even more!!

BUT, since fitting the wheels ive notice a 'distant' grinding/vibrating noise coming from the front when turning right. No idea to what it could be so taking it to BMW specialist tmoz.

Mounted my two 17x8.5 to see if I was gonna have fitment issues. These were much lighter than the oem Borbet H style wheels.

After taking these pics, I didn't like how the BBS decals looked directly under the valve stems. So I carefully peeled them off, switched the center caps and reapplied the decals to line up with the center caps. This way the valve stems don't block the BBS logo. Still a little unsure how I feel about the tires. I liked the way 215/40's looked on my style 42's(same fitment as style 5's), but the 235/40's look a little too beefy. While I'm not really a stretched tire fan, I prefer a mild stretch over the bubbled sidewall look. Looks like I might be in the market for a set of 215/40's.

17x8.5 Kosei K1s with 245/40/17 Hoosier A6 autocross tires. Hodge-podge suspension (12.75" from center of front wheel to fender, 13" from bottom of rear hub to fender), Vorshlag camber plates maxed out, rear camber wherever ride height sets it, M3 Koni inserts in M3 housings with the factory spring perches removed, plus other stuff that doesn't matter for this discussion.

Fronts fit pretty well, but I will be running a 12mm spacer. That may mean I have to roll the front fenders.

Rear fenders are really, really close and will need to be rolled.

off topic of the thread, buy why wider wheels? I ran ET44 with 18x9.5's in the rear, 8.5's front with plenty of clearance. Then again, I have a M50 so it's significantly more power than the 4cyl, though I didn't utulize the extra width. Tony (bluebimma) has had MANY different setups, search thru his posts/threads for good info.

Fair warning:

The preceding two posts will be moved or deleted soon.

Please make an effort to keep this thread dedicated to ONLY photos of wheels on cars. The OP is new, and the reply was to assist, but it should have been in another thread- I believe there is one with a lot of detail on fitment issues...

Thanks!

Staggered style 68s (17" x 7.5" with 225s in the front, 17" x 8.5" with 245s in the rear), Bavauto springs, Bilstein sport shocks/struts. Plan is to have these powdercoated in black and used for winter wheels. Thinking of 18s for summer, but we'll see how it goes with 17s (already noticed a big difference when hitting bumps and ridges in the road). Main purpose was also getting rims that would clear the M brakes I have to install.

There was no need to do fender role.
But, there was slight rubbering on the inner arches front & rear under load.

I used 5mm spacers, but now i own LTW staggered style 24.

Since I have no desire to run 24's (or larger!) on my cars, I will not be the first...

However, I have chance to pick up some Roadstars pretty inexpensively ($100 a wheel). What do y'all say? Deal or no Deal?

Bilstein sport shocks & struts/H&R sport or race springs

So many kids these days think that coilovers are the only way to lower your car and your car isn't cool unless you scrape everywhere you go. If all you care about is looking cool, why waste money on suspension, just cut your springs and have a spare oil pan and bumper handy. FWIW Struts and springs work just fine for anything you will encounter on the street. I'd take a well known high quality strut/spring setup any day over a no-name cheap Chinese coilover setup.

the style 189's are actually my winter setup for my e92, so i just wanted to see what they look like on the ti more or less and if they would fit. They'll be coming off in a month or so. Even with all that negative camber in the rear and stiff H&R coilovers and rolled fenders, the tires still rub a bit on hard bumps.

can anyone show me a pic of a Ti only style 138's???? got a chance to get a set for a few hundred bucks to use for awhile and they look pretty mint. Google and the thread search yielded nothing. Thanks if you can help!

style 138 for reference... 17x8 et20 - i think they'd look hot as balls but cant find a decent reference, even for a coupe/sedan.

Not a good reference for your TI. But those wheels transformed my E32. Classic look in my opinion - offset may be an issue depending on your intended use.

thanks for the pic Todd, I actually saw it when I was googling for pics, veryyyy nice car bro!

Id still love to see a pic on an E36 though with some lower profile tires, they'll fit just like my style 5's since they are identical in specs - just looking for a reference before i drop the dough on em'! Might have to get someone to photoshop it for me since they don't appear to be common at all on our era.
