OK, I know how some of you feel about the the ads from Autotrader and Craig's list. Now everyone else tell me how you feel in the poll.

Is there an add-on option to automatically exclude these from the new post search?

I've been using http://www.318ti.org/forum/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=53,73 to get around it, but maybe it would be nice if you could set the option in the user control panel. On by default for new users, with how to turn it off in the FAQ.

Too much work on my part.
I'll either continue or discontinue it.
An option isn't really an option.

If ad's will help cut the cost to keep the site up, then keep them around

I like the craigslist. Might be 'cause I'm looking for another TI and it's a whole lot faster than creating a favorite in IE

I don't mind the ads, I'm always looking for deals and I think it helps new members and draws in potential members. Try searching craigslist for a 318ti, you'll have to search each city individually(it sucks). I usually use the "Todays Post" search function and I just skip past the ads if I'm in a hurry. Then again, I guess I'm like Joe Dirt in a way, since I like read autotrader and trader express magazines regularly.

I do sympathize for the members who live overseas as I understand how it could be annoying.

All the more reason to have them gone...
Im sure 99% of people who visit this board already own a Ti, or come here looking for info on a Ti, after coming across one for sale either one they saw in person, or came across one already hunting on the trader or craigslist....

If you look at how many people view the ads (usually 5 or less), they are just a waste of space and make navigating the new posts even more time consuming... (my computer hates this website, it takes forever to load)

obviously, i voted for them to be banished from whence they came.

'Try searching craigslist for a 318ti, you'll have to search each city individually(it sucks).'
...not true. There are many sites that search CL nationally.

I say get rid of them.....

I can make it so site supporters don't see them. :)
Actually, I can make it so only those not logged in see them.

Let me know if this works.
I could also make it so those registered with less than 7 days or 5 posts would see the ads.

i found the cl search very helpful - it was convenient to have them on the site. log-in option works, just don't get rid of them.

national cl search sites get taken down (last i checked it's against their policy).

http://www.craigshelper.com has been up for a while. I've used it many times when trying to locate deals nearby instead of going through and searching individually the stuff for 4-6 different cities.
