Bobbak, one of the best brands is Xtec. That's what i have. It costed me 350 when i bought them like a year ago or so. I have 6000k right now. I hear mcculloch are good too.

I bought a new set of HIDs named apexcone. They costed $130. Apparently HID kits are getting really cheap to buy now. This time i bought 4,300K.

There's this guy on ebay that sells Xtec for 100 bucks!!! but he only offers at 8,000k which will be really blue.

ALL of those question have been covered. Several times. But to make it quick and simple. The brighest (OEM look like you see on acura's, infinity, bmw) is 4,300K. End of story :smile:

i ordered 5000k Apexcone the company doesnt matter when buying HIDs their all the same crap. I found out HID no matter what K you get is going to Fing bright. Its still going to be 200% more light output and 3 times as bright as halogen bulbs. Yet, if you get 8000k(blue)and so on its more strain on your eyes because your cones pick up yellow and white much better.

The clock, instrument cluster, door lock, air cond/defroster switches were a major PITA! I even put blue LEDs behind the headight/foglight switches and the climate control panel. The clock is pretty cool, it lights up dark blue and the numbers are bright blue. The cigarette lighter and ashtray are even blue. Orange lights FTL! If anyone else wants to do it I'll show you how, but there's no way I'm doing another car unless I'm getting paid. Some of the original lights were so tiny and cramped, it was like performing micro-surgery! I had to dremel a bunch of plastic to make the new lights fit inside some of the switches, but everything looks clean on the outside. It looks like it came this way from the factory. Just like VW's interior lights. Effin Sweet!

dude. its hard to do them. you have to have patience. you're working with little tiny spaces/gaps. but in the end i think its worth it because it all turns out blue.

Guys I ran into some trouble with my climate control panel. When I finally put things back together, I found that the controls lit up orange despite the blue LEDs. So I took it apart to find that the face is painted orange on the inside. Unlike the speedometer, the numbers and pictures were also painted on the inside. So now I have to figure out how to make the little pictures around the knobs blue. This thing is driving me crazy.

LMAO cuz im starting to think that maybe IT IS because i DIDN'T ground myself.

So like i stated earlier, i was waxing my car at work. I was playing some music so i wont get bored. I went a whole hour playing the stereo. My battery is starting to get weak and i already knew that my car wasn't going to start.

So anyway, just to make sure, i tried to start the car and of coarse it wouldn't and it just start ticking. So after it started ticking, i decided to turn off the stereo (with the off button). I went to get a jump box so i can start my car up. It started perfectly with no problems. But now, my radio wont turn on at all. Ive pushed the on/off button. Nothing. I checked the fuses, its all good. I didnt check the fuses on the amps but i doubt that would even be the problem. I took off the face and put it back on. Nothing. So basically my stereo isnt turning on.

Just got home myself. I must say it was a very productive day. Thanks Harold for finally fixing my speedometer!!! I finally get to use my in dash navigation!!! Used it on the way home ftw!!! Changed differential fluid, reinforced my m3 bumper, cleaned/painted my rear window trim, and finally after a year and a half, my speedometer is working... DAMN THIS IS TURNING OUT TO BE A GREAT CHRISTMAS.

I had my new depo/corner's put in, we changed my trunk shocks, and pushed a stupid little button for my radio to work FTW!

I wished that i could have fixed my brake light problem :frown:

Don't use the dremel on it, I tried that on the ring that goes around the fan switch. It warps the plastic and causes it to bubble. Might take a while, but if you remove the glue from the back of the gauge faces, then sand the outer edges of the tach, speedo, fuel and temp gauges, it'll turn out better. Just sand wherever there's writing and whatever areas that you want to light up. Tomorrow I could PM you pics of where to drill the holes for the smaller LEDs if you want.

Damn, i was pissing off some ppl today LMAO. I went to a place with a wall, i took chalk, a 25ft metric, and a screw driver. I parked 25 ft away from the wall and i marked 25 inches off the ground. I thought i had it and NOPE, that thing is still lighting up the top of the trees. Im blinding everyone, haha. Im going to have to drop a good 10 inches from the low beams. The floor isnt as white as it SHOULD be. Reason being cuz its all pointing a little to high.

Its funny cuz i was driving on the street and i lite up the entire body of ppl on the street. I can actually see their facial expression and squinting their eyes. I did my best not to drive behind anyone so i wont blind them. In the freeway that is.
