LOL...Noah has already had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hugo in person. While Hugo and I have had a spotted past and I question his behavior on the intraweb at times, I'm sure he is a very nice fellow in person and doubt he would ever do anything that juvenile.

On a completely unrelated note: Noah mentioned paying $11 per window clip at his local dealership! HOLY HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!

I'm not cocky I picked up a great car built by someone that put a lot of time and thought into this car. Someday when I have the time to properly research and execute it I'll swap in an S50 or S52 with either cams or a s/c then I'll get a little cocky but until then I'll enjoy driving a modest looking fun car.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but $10k isn't going to get you far into a turbo s50 swap. I'd set aside $5-7k for the engine swap (to do it right) and another $10k to add the turbo (and do it right). FI and BMW = $$$$$$

hey pollo loco. im only messing. that car you picked up, im sure its nicely built already. im just giving u a hard time. lol. im just wanting that kind of engine mod. but eh, ill get there some day. im not doing any or much mods to my engine now since i plan in the future to just do the swap.
i figure i can hopefully find an M3 crashed, damaged, or by someone getting rid of it. do the swap and part out the parts i dont need (which wouldnt be much). take another few years and do some type of FI. its a hobby that'll take a while to complete which is a good thing. i wouldnt get bored too easily, like some member on this forum that complains (ahem ahem gar ahem) lol.
but like dusten and stealth said. im sure it takes lots of money and time and patience to do it all RIGHT. which is the only way to get a nice looking quick bimmer that'll be stealth. when the time comes, ill be coming on here to do the S52. until then, ill have to enjoy my slower Ti for now.

yeah I busted it at the top where it pivots on the accelerator. I ordered a new pedal from pelican it should be near next week. I can still drive, it just has a very very small accelerator. I didn’t buy a museum piece I bought a drivers car. Dusten was very up front about everything with the car and I haven’t found anything that was a surprise. If you’re not breaking/fixing/replacing something you’re not driving hard enough. I'm not beating on the car I'm just doing what it was built for. I drove 200+ miles today, down to LB then up to Mt. Baldy.

I took the car to my local mechanic (usually he only works on my daily driver) but I trust the guy. I couldn't figure out what this low speed rubbing/grinding sound was. The rear passenger rotor had warped and was rubbing under braking. He found that and fixed it and gave the car a full cavity search. Awesome to hear. I think the set screw was F'd up on the passenger side rotor. It came from Pelican like that. Wonder if that's what caused it to warp? The set screw doesn't really do much, just holds it in place while the bolts are tightened. In any case, glad you got it handled.

As far as i see in the pics, the exterior and interior are ok. The rear bumper is messed up but its not a big deal. Its missing foglights. But im pretty sure it has its small scratches and dings here and there. Im going to go look at it tomorrow. The only big thing wrong (well not exactly for me) is it has no motor. But im doing an S52 swap anyway, so ill be putting my m44/sc into that other ti. Straight profit in my eyes.

Hugo I can’t wait to see the swap. I'm kicking around a few swap ideas myself but I don’t know how realistic they are with CA DOT regulations.

I replaced my 2nd gas pedal tonight, bring on number 3

I have a pic of all 3 pedals it looks like the evolution of man but with gas pedals. If anyone goes of an aftermarket throttle pedal that is all aluminum or metal including the base plate and upper pivot piece please let me know I'm tired of swapping plastic.

Fabricate your own. haha j/k.

So you want to do a swap too? Check this out, You, Jesse, Lazoh, Marv, and I should rent a uhaul and drive up to the bavarian place. If us 5 buy motors at the same time, im sure we will get a mad discount.

This is what i found out so far to make it CA legal (i will ask the state ref place to see what's actually true), 1.) you need to go with same OBD your car is. 2.) Motor must be of same year or newer. 3.) Must swap all components needed (pretty much everything that came from factory) for that motor to pass smog itself. 4.) Take it to the state ref to get it barred/registered. You'll get like a sticker or something that will go in the engine bay which says that motor has been registered and legal.

We don’t need a uhaul my daily is an s-10. I fit an EJ20 and all its accessories in just the front of the bed. We could get 5 motors. But I'm no balla and I'm not going to spend the cash on an s52. I'm thinking outside the box but I'll keep my mouth shut about any possible ideas until I find out the legality and feasibility of my ideas. LoL. Maybe you can pick up an M52? LoL.

Your S10 can fit 5 motors, with tranny's and full acc. for all 5 motors? Well minus one cuz you dont want one?

3 motors/trans/accessories for sure. I forgot that everyone would be picking up a tranny also. I'd be down for the trip up there. Hell if everyone took there TI and plastic we could bring the motors home in the cars. Not the best idea for our interiors. I picked up a tranny for my VW and hauled it back on the passenger side floor of my roommates’ Grand Prix.

Im hearing from ppl that it would be legal since the motor its from the same make aslong as its newer or same year of car going into

Why a frown? Same make, not model. Meaning, aslong its a BMW motor it should be good. You cant put like a toyota engine on there, then it wont be legal.

I saw a 2JZ powered 318is from Australia. Not what I'm looking at but you have to respect 500whp.

I have no idea how hard you're driving your Ti to break pedals. Are you like stopping on them or wtf? LoL. Your foot should rest in the pedal. Not you slamming your foot down to it, lol.

I drive the car the way it was intended and built. The second pedal broke cause I didnt know how to remove it at the junk yard. Lazoh bailed me out and got the pedal but we cut the bottom piece off. The third one is a new one from pelican, if I break this one then I'm abusing it.
