All i can say is holy sh!t.

Our friend Garik (M3_killer) was in a serious accident. He went up to angeles crest with his buddies (in his ti, yes). What happen was he hit a patch of ice and it spun his rear end. The car rolled down the mountain. He rolled down for 800 feet. He didn't break any bones but he did suffer from internal bleeding in his head. He got a concusion. He has been in the hospital for almost a week now. He had surgery in his head to prevent brain damage. If i heard correctly, i think i heard something about he might or might not recover any feeling on his left side of his face. As of right now he's in a lot of pain.

All i can say is from everything i was told, garik is lucky to be alive. The ti is dead. That doesn't matter to me, aslong as he's ok.

I know he cant read this right now but, I wish you the best buddy, hope you recover well and soon. Well pay you a visit on saturday if you're home by friday. Good luck G and stay up!

Yeah. i was glad to hear he will be okay. But not just "okay", but at least he is alive and can recover. We all just want our friend to get better and get back on his feet.
Although we pick on you Garik, we're all your friends.
And i thank his sister, Meg, for informing me and Hugo about his mishap on angeles crest.

Clarification please- did he roll 800 or 80 feet?

BakeR318
02-06-2008, 08:23 PM
I believe it's 800. If you take a look at google maps near Angeles Crest Highway, its a pretty mountainous area..800 feet looks possible.

He had two friends with him who walked away. Our friend garik was rushed to the hospital. He was minutes of actually dying.

Man I've been thinking more and more about Garik's accident..I really hope he's okay. HuGo, do you know exactly where on Angeles Crest the accident occurred? I've been looking at the elevations on google earth trying to find out where it all happened. Seriously though, best wishes go out to him..his friends deserve purple hearts.

I have no idea but we know for sure he was atleast 800 feet up there. He must been up there pretty good to be where ice/snow is at.

Garik, Get Well soon buddy. That is bad news and good news, you survived but the Ti didn't.

Not to be a bummer, but this is why I spend my fast times on the track, and not on the street. I drive Angeles Crest/Forest up to Willow Springs, enjoy the ride and push it a bit, but always keep in mind that the real fun comes at the track and this is just a warm up. Let's keep street racing for the ricers and be smart and go to the track for the good stuff.

Again, get well soon, and if you weren't trying to pass your buddy or avoid being passed, ignore everything I said.

30yrMbr...we dont know for a fact whether he was up there going normal or going fast...only he knows...but i guess whatever it was, hes survived. And most likely he wont remember either since his sister told me he doesnt really remember what happen that day.

I went up to angeles crest today with my cousin to take a few shots...i was nervous the whole time. It was kool to see snow. I havent seen snow in years. I tried to think of where he could have fallen off and landed on the the roof of his car...but i didnt see any signs of the possible location.

thats why i love bmws, they'll save your life in most cases.
we had an old e28 535i that's side went into a tree at about 70mph, it hit passenger side front door, i was sitting in passenger seat, i crawled out, we pulled it back onto the road with a truck, and we drove it back home.

Im doing the worst...if you can believe it. Ya my head got broken and i had internal bleeding. The car is a ball but now has been crushed. im so sad that shes gone but im more happy to be alive.

i wasnt speeding if that what you guys are thinking i was doing 35mph but that black ice is not kind.

also angles crest goes up to 2000 feet so my fall wasnt anywhere near the top

Glad to hear you're ok garik. The same week you got that accident a friend of mine died. He got hit by a train. It would have been really really bad for me to have gone to two funerals in such a short time. But things happen and you're alive and that's the best we can hope for.

Next meet at you're house, no? Well grill out? This way, you actually wont miss a meet. :icon_poke

But in all seriousness, im glad you're ok ara

Garik it broke my heart when I heard you got hurt. Needless to say, I'm very happy that you're still with us. Having plenty experience with black ice and driving on icy roads, I know it wasn't your fault. I wish you and your friends the best with recovery and I'll help you find another car. Luckily the BMW is replaceable. It's gonna be hard for you to get back behind the wheel and every time you feel your car hydroplane or jerk from hitting puddles and whatnot, it's gonna scare the crap outta you for a while. Just hang in there and take it easy buddy. Get well soon,

Jess

well if i were to sleep at that moment, due to my brain injury(broke my skull and the broken piece cut an artery in my head). Basically i was bleeding on top of my brain inside and not all the blood was escaping.I had a concussion and on top of that the break/bleed. If i slept i woudlnt wake up :frown:

the A4 is great in my book...im very down with it but i cant drive for 2 more months so their just going to give it to me in june for my birthday(TOOO FAR)

and the visit dont even trip guys i look totally fine only addition is a huge scar on the side of my head. Other than that i look exactly the same(THANK GOD)

sit in a volvo for three hours...
turn around and drive the A4 (or any other Audi) back the same three hours.
then come back to this thread and tell me what car has the better comfort and feel behind the wheel. i have 40 volvo's to chose from at work...40 Audi's...i'll drive the volvo every time.
BUT, i'm 37 years young.
have had a bad a$$ case of hemorrhoids about three years ago...Audi's don't work for me.
but, they could be cool for you.
enjoy your new car
