Well, after having my name down for more than 3 months in the order list at my local BMW dealer, I had to take it out. Why you might ask? And the answer is because of the picture enclosed.

I could not pass a great deal on a brand spanking new '07 ///M Roadster that was left at the dealer, let me just add that it almost cost me the same as a 135i and I hope that I made the right choice!!

I went to my local dealer last night to check on the status of the 1 series and no clear answer was given to me. On the process I walked by an Imola Red ///M Roadster and next thing you know I'm out for a test drive (just for kicks!), my good friend and sales advisor from ASSAEL BMW tells me, lets run some number just for kicks. 2 hours went by and I came out with this baby, good luck to everyone with the 1 series!!!

I thought BMW was running some kind of special on M Roadsters and Coupes?

They do if you want to lease, it's like $549 for an M Coupe and $569 for the M Roadster. I actually purchased the car and the price was more than 20% off from MSRP.

I think you made the right choice.
First gen of any car can be a crap shoot.
The Roadster has a proven record.
Especially with the 20 off MSRP. :)

You're right Steven and the extra HPs also sounded good during my thought process. Even though we dont have a Z section I will keep you guys posted on the mods.

This thing is fast!!!!!

Sorry Marv but I had to go back to the dealer and in any case we went shopping for a couple of goodies and you are correct, there will be other times and I'm glad that you like the "powerplant". Here is another pic from another angle of the "Land Shark".

I know but the deal was on this exact car but my first choice was the coupe. I'm considering getting a hard top anyway, this will make it an M Coupe??

Hugo I'm sorry but you dont stand a chance that **** is fast. I didnt stand a chance from a stop or on the freeway. All I saw the whole drive home was Harold's red ass. I've got pics and will post them tomorrow.
Harold its a nice ride.

+1 on more picks. Nice choice of car. I'd probably loose my license though if I had an M Coupe or Roadster. The ticket I got in the Z4 almost two years ago was enough. I'm with the others that think an M Coupe would be nicer, but there are times when you just can't pass up a good deal, and I'd say this was one of them.

Thanks guys! I will definately post more pics and I will keep you posted on the mods. The 1 series is nice as well and I'm sure that it will have no flaws or issues but you never know. I need to watch it though 'cause this car can easily get anybody in trouble :)

The '06 Z4 3.0si got me in trouble to the tune of $444 plus 8 points on my license (123mph in a 65 plus wreckless driving).

My local dealership just sent me an invite to view the new models. The 1 series are going to be there to test drive.

It was almost two years ago at one of the BMW UDSK events. It's supposed to be dropping of my driving record this August. I will say the car felt glued to the ground at those speeds (and the indicated 141mph I saw), even with the top down.

You're lucky it was wreckless driving, otherwise you'd be out of more than $444 ;-)
