we all know that we have e30 rear suspension, but what about the differences between an e30 m3 front suspension and ours????

i have a awesome deal on some coilovers from a guy who was going to convert his e30 m3 to e36 suspension.

just mainly wondering about the front struts, seem to have the same 2 bolts that are 180 degree's opposite of each other to bolt to the hub. then the rears are just coils with height adjusters.

TIA

btw i did search, nothing came up.

front suspension is the same as all e36's im not sure if the rear will work but i think it may.
zboot may know from experience.

i also would like to know since i have a set of sport springs from an e30 in my garage.

i think the rears will fit but i would like to know for sure

Only the rear shocks can work...

you have an E30, throw the springs in that

I know regular e30 rear shocks and springs will fit us. There is a difference between regular e30 and the irregulars rear ends. By irregular, I mean the m3 and ix. The m3 rear can be transplanted to us, but you may be stuck with having to buy e30 m3 specific brake components if you ever need to change or fix something. On the awd ix, I know little but it's safe to say that its not compatible.

ok so i just tested it out with my e30 bav auto sport springs and they work perfert. the part numbers are even the same for the rubber mounting pieces.

also the rear shocks work as well

there are E30 boys that swap over to Ti suspension all the time, to get the 5 stud conversion.

M3 conv. will work both front and back including brakes.
