would we be able to do something special where we could have an embedded calendar? otherwise i guess people would just have to click through (and just make the calendar thread sticky). have to see how this will work for people.

I could probably make it it's own page if you want.

Would this be something that is shared with other groups?

could we try that? be nice to compare to having a link to click thru. here's the code google provides to embed in your website:

<iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=mhti.group%40gmail.com&ctz=America/Denver" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

i made it a public calendar (meaning anyone can view it). i would likely set it up so some/all of the MHTi members (basically whomever wants to) can add events. i think it would be nice to have one for each region otherwise it could get very cluttered i would think.

EDIT: hmmmm, thinking more about it, we could possibly test having a calendar for each region, but all viewable alongside/on top of each other (not sure if as a guest you'd be able to select which ones are viewable which would be really nice, but should at least make each region's events a different color).

If it's just for this board, you can have a separate calendar in the calendar in the navbar.

i really like the ability to add it to my calendar with a click. reason i miss things is because it's not on my calendar :) maybe i'm just lazy ...

crap ... i need to get to working out (leg night!). i see that you added our region to the calendar area. other nice thing is google calendar will do mapping and other such things for you. we could likely embed links to google maps in the standard forum calendar to provide equivalent functionality. i'll try playing around with it later. thanks steven!

cool, thanks steven! i'll get input from the other MHTi'ers and we'll see which way we want to go (built-in forum calendar for our region or the gCal option). have to determine the pluses and minuses to each.

I like it. It was a bit slow to load the first time I opened one of them, but it pops right up whenever I open them now.
