Dad and I went to check out the 1 series on Saturday and the dealership had a Dinan 135i in stock with the Dinan oil cooler, software, and exhaust putting out around 415 hp/405 ftlb. It had the manual and boy was that thing QUICK!!! I put in my Passport GT1 G meter and it ran a 4.15 sec 0-60. Thank God it didn't need to be broken in and the oil warmed up within the half an hour we experimented. Dad's 1998 M Roadster runs a 4.7 or so with his exhaust, M50 manifold, TMS software, and K&N. Hopefully I'll get that beast and dad can enjoy the new sub $42,000 with mods 135i he wants to get... but probably after the tii body packages come out. Oh yeah, I think the 135i with the Dinan package is WAY more awesome than the new M3 which we also tested. 8400 rpms is nice, but who cares when you have 400 ftlbs from 2500-5000 rpms?

Wow.. That is a pretty impressive 0-60 time... How accurate how those g-techs?

I drove a new M3 on Friday and I would have a real hard time making a comparison between an M3 and a 135i... The 135 is a more bare bones, lets go drive car, even though it still weighs in way over 3k pounds... The M3 is a balls out luxury sport/super car.

The M3 is an amazing car.. I thought the weight of the car would ruin the experience, but it doesn't. The i-drive implementation is top notch, and the different responses you can get from the car by changing the M settings is also amazing... It was a lot of fun putting the car into m-dynamic mode on the DSC settings and launching hard and have the DSC step in just enough to control wheel spin, but not enough to keep it from chirping the tires in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.

Price no object I'd take the M3 over a dinan 135/335 any day... The M3 would perform better and be more reliable under hard driving... Still way to many issues with the x35 cars. Dinan, active autowerks, and RRT all had issues with the turbo I6 cars at one lap. Even with the dinan oil coolers and upgraded AA intercoolers. When those cars were running, they were winning. But they placed between 15th and 20th place over all because of limp modes.

Of course, the dinan 135 is more in my price range than the 75k M3 that I drove..

The 128 is a NA car. The dinan products for the 135i are all for a turbo car, better tuning, oil cooler, etc...

The dinan website only shows products for the 135 right now.. They show no tuning products for the E90/2 328 either. Just a cold intake, and exhaust.
