Hi, I have a 1995 with a bad connection between the line level CD changer and the radio head unit. I am 99.99% sure of this because a) it is only one channel, the left, and there is no loss of audio on this channel in any other mode but the CD, b) when I lightly tap the dash above the radio, the audio returns. Is it hard to get the radio out of the dash? How do I do it?
Thanks a lot in advance. Viv

The tool to get out the radio is available from Bavarian Autosport, www.bavauto.com, (http://www.bavauto.com,) and is about $16.95. The part number for it is 600143. I just got one beacuse I am re-doing my sound system. There are two little plastic tabs that flip open on the face of the radio. Behind them are two hex screws that this tool fits in. Be careful, a lot of people try to use a regular hex key, and strip it out. It is worth it to get the right tool. Once you loosen the screws, the radio can be pulled out. Pretty simple. Hope this helps.

Ummm, I just used a very small flathead screwdriver. Worked like a charm.

Yes, no special tool is needed... I take mine out all the time with a small flat head screw driver.

Took mine out last night with a 2 or 2.5mm hex wrench.
