I bought a used 668 M44 ECU for my 1996 OBDII m44 318ti. I bought it to send it to technique tuning to tune. I plan on swapping out the stock one with the tuned one when they are finished with it. I did some research, and I keep hearing about the EWS going to get in the way of a straight swap. Please share me the details about what I need to do.

I think you need to have the ECU aligned at the dealership, chances are it's going to be expensive, maybe you can ask Technique Tuning to do an EWS-delete

Do you think they will charge extra as well?

I'm not sure about that, you'd have to ask them

Right on, if it doesn't work out, I could always resell this.

when I called the dealership to ask about EWS alignment, they told me "it would take about an hour of labor" Labor was $92/hr.

So, the cost of realignment would be ~$100.

yep and honestly it takes them 15 minutes tops!

its pretty lame! the hardest part is opening your hood and plugging the gt1 in (or whatever computer software they are using now.)
