Hey all.
New member here, but I am a member of www.chitownm.com, and bimmerfest.com. unfortunately, the M44 is somewhat of a mystery to everyone without a 318. so here I am for all of your knowledge, and to pick your brains !!
I have a 96 318ic, M44.
What is the rating of stock M44 fuel injectors, LBS/hr and also, has anyone tried to put a roots type S/C without using the dasc kit ??
I was going to try to put an eaton M90 S/C in, but can not find some basic info.

What is the rating of stock M44 fuel injectors, LBS/hr
Injectors are Bosch 0-280-150-501. There's not many information out there about the rating, but at the stock 3bar (43psi) they are ratead 191.8 cc/min which eqauls to 18.25 lb/hr or 138 g/min. They are high impedance (16 ohm). That's all I could gather.
You might ask the guys at DASC: I guess they have some datas since their kit uses higher fuel pressure to ingrease flow.
Or you can shoot an eMail to Witch Hunter (they do injector cleaning): they might have more datas.
Let me know, I'm interested in the subject as well.

I'm curious as well. I'm gonna send an email to Witch Hunter and see if they know: they recently serviced my injectors... Which should actually be back tomorrow...

Good job cleaning it. I was reading somewhere of a company that services Eatons. I dunno if I can find it again, but let me know if you're intersted and I try...
I asked Witch Hunter about the injectors and waiting for a reply.
Btw, my injectors were tested at 3 bar and they came out to be 202 cc/min, compared to the stated 191.8.

actually, I took it completely apart, cleaned EVERYTHING, including the rotors to inspect them for missing coating, scratches, etc. I also had to remove the bypass butterfly and shaft, and clean them and repack the bearings with grease. Cleaned the drive gears out and changed the oil. Didn't pay any attention to the nose, cuz I need a short one. so, I serviced it enough for now !!!

I have a very similar post in the lounge, so I'll check both from time to time, and post progress in both areas also, if it's okay with the MODS.

Got a reply today from Gordon at Witch Hunter. He was suggesting to use the Calculator page (http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorcalc1.php4) on his website to figure out the proper size injectors or how an injector will perform under different fuel pressures. I hope it helps.

Don't thank me; thank Gordon over at Witch Hunter. He's very knowledgeable on injectors.
Glad it helps, however, when it comes to tuning the SC I would consider a wide band O2 sensor and some software to access the DME and not rely sole on what the theory says.
I'm no expert on the subject whatsoever, just starting to get some knowledge on the subject before SC the Z3 (if it ever happens).
