Let me investigate this one for you. A friend of mine has a 316i compact and he spent like $15k on the sound system. The damned system ways so much he only had to put coils in front to drop the car!

i have a 12" cerwin vega HED-12 which is a sub with very little wattage, i have a rockfordfosgate 200m which is also only a little amount of wattage, i simply placed the amp on the back of my seats, the capacitor right next to the amp, and the sub is placed on the right side of the trunk. in a box. simply and straight out, i also took out the trunk covering for better bumpin and i must say my system may not be a couple of 15" big ass bass system, but it bumps real well and i get compliments from all my friends with systems trying to get theirs to be just like mine.

I've played with a couple different placement options in my 97ti. I'm running a Kicker CompVR 12dvc pushed by a Fosgate Power 450s (474 factory tested watts). I built a HELLA sealed box close to the Kicker factory spec. Current sub placement is up against the passenger side of the hatch area, facing across the space. You can see some pictures here... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/472294

I haven't had much chance to tune it yet, but it certainly sounds better than my last box/placement. I plan on testing in/out of phase and a couple different x-over settings, but haven't gotten there yet... ;}

i have two 10 inch infinity subs...they are in a sealed double box...and they are just facing straight foward towards the back of the seats...it has good quality...but with two subs and one box...the box is too big to really put it anywhere else...
