i need some help with my m42 engine. im replacing the timing chain and tensioner, and need to take off the lower timing chain cover. to do this i need to remove the harmonic balancer/vibration dampner pulley bolt. i know its torqued to 244 ft lbs, probably more once it settles and rust kicks in. does anyone know if this is a reversed thread? i cant find and listings on whether it is or not, but anyone with some engineering knowledge would think that it should be... any help would be greatly appreciated.

The forum's a lot more active than over here, you'll find a gearhead who knows what you're looking for.
Good Luck!

I can't say for certain, but I would assume it's right handed. Of all the cars I have worked on, I have never runn into a left-handed pulley bolt.

Go to Borders or the library and check the Haynes manual. I don't have mine handy or I'd just tell you for certain.
