I live in the Atlanta area and know of at least five other ti drivers in my area and I'm sure there are probably more. Especially in the area. Thoughts, comments?

For real, give me a date and I could probably come down. I live in Knoxville so it wouldn't be a big drive. Keep us posted!

Why look like all my friends at high school and drive a civic, when I can beat them in my TI?

Hey lee, I think a good deal of us are in school too... It's not like it has to be real big either. I just want to be able to get together with some people like me to talk about ti's

If you need help organizing, I can do that too. Just need a big parking lot one night of the week.

We could head to Deals Gap for an over nighter one weekend.

I'd show up for a meeting in the southeast. I live in western NC, about an hour from Deal's Gap actually. But I'm only a couple hours from Atlanta also. Has anyone ever thought of renting a road course for a day? It might be worth looking at the cost during the right time of the year. It might be reasonable if we got enough people interested. We could also just attend a CCA event at the same time. Anyway, a ti meeting would be fun.

We tried to do that a few years ago in the Washington DC area. It fizzled out.
On the ti mailing list we talked about doing the Dragon.
Also hopefully there will be a lot of ti owners at this year's Ofest in Greensboro, NC.
The track will be VIR. :) It is in September05 this year.
If people don't want to attend Ofest we could get together the Saturday before or after.

There's a group from DTMPower going on a Fall Mountain Drive soon...as in the 17th of October. Not a lot of time to plan, but that's when they're planning. It would be headed up into North Carolina to run through the twisties up in the mountains. Here's a link to the post:

Mall of Georgia is on exit 115 (u.s. 20, Bufford), 85 North. probably 2 exits before braselton.

Ok, probably shooting at late December. That good? Wanna meet somewhere the night before, hang out and have a good time, then do a drive the next day? Make it something big and invite other Bimmers? Give me feedback so we can set something definate. I'll make "flyers" on my computer and send them out to the other BMW sites....sound good?

How about the weekend of December 18th? College students shoud be on break then, and it's a weekend for those who work. Any conflicts/better ideas? I know I work on weekends, so I'll have to ask off, thus the reason I am not scheduling it for this month. Let me know people.

Yeah, I'm trying to. It was slow at first, there was a big gap between when the idea was first posted until it caught on. So I want to do this! December 11th then. Are we a go for then?
P.S.: Chepas, you seem to know the area a bit better than I do, please PM me just so I can get a little more info from a local.

This is it folks. It's on. December 11th, 2004.
I need a head count on those planning on attending. Perhaps we can get a group discount at a hotel for the weekend.
The plan so far is as follows (still coming together):
Arive in Mall of Georgia in Atlanta. Mid afternoon on Saturday? Hang out. Meet & Greet. Then proceed from there around town, then get some food. Go out on the town. Return to hotel, sleep. Wake up Sunday, drive up to the mountains in a convoy. Take on the twisties. Eat at some point, take a break, then hit up the hills and curves again. Either head back to town or disperse home from there later in the afternoon on Sunday.
We can announce this to anyone you feel like inviting. Other BMWs are fine, but this is going to be centered around the ti. Bring passengers if you care to, as well. I want this to be a big friendly get together, and at the same time, this should be hella fun.
P.M. me with suggestions, or just post here.

11-17-2004, 04:40 AM
I will be there! I should not be included in the room count though, I am only about 45 minutes to the mall. As it turns out, I am 45 minutes north towards the mountains so I will pick up the convey en route! :chuckel:

I still am planning on getting in on this, but I'm going to have to join in on Sunday morning. I scheduled a gig for Saturday night, because I thought this was happening on the 17th. I need to know where you guys are staying so I can meet up there, or I could meet up with Beach in Gainesville because I'm coming in from Western NC and that's on the way. Also when to meet up either in Gainesville or at the hotel. Looking forward to driving some new fun roads.

May have to book your own hotel rooms, individually. There's always the alternative of just coming down Sunday morning, which is a possibility. That's a lot of driving in one day, but it can be done.
Head count so far is:
1) Me
2) Beach
3) Sax
4) Chepas
5) Schussey
6) You?

Short notice. Come if you're not too busy. Tonight. Meet up around 8. Hang out for a bit, then go eat. World Market parking lot, off Clemson Rd. right by the intersection with Two Notch Rd. (Northeast Columbia.)
Accessible from either I-77 or I-20.
From I-20 towards Florence, take the Clemson Rd. exit. Turn left and go towards the gas stations and stuff. Stay on Clemson Roda until you cross over Two Notch (#1). You'll see the parking lot right there on your left.
From I-77 towards Charlotte, take the Killian Rd. exit, and turn right. Thru the red light, cross the tracks, then left at the stop. Take the next right (this is Clemson Rd.). Continue past Hard Scrabble Rd. and proceed until you see the lot on your right.
