Well recently a friend of mine, who goes by ZHP on the forum, just got a 330i. It comes with the whole ///M3 shebang. His first BMW was a 318i. So today we decided to go on a stroll in the street. Here are some of the pictures:

The tint is 35%.

It's a 6 speed short-throw manual gearbox. Can get to 60 in 5.4 seconds. 1/4 mile 14.0 secs at 97.5 mph

You MIGHT be the first BMW owner, at least in a long while, I've heard boast 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. That said, your car is sexy as hell. Love the color and the styling cues are 'pure secks.' Not feeling the 'hood shkoop' on the 318 though...Hmmm...

Sorry if it came off that way but I'm not boasting. I don't know if you read my whole post. People PMed Mav asking questions about my car and he said I should just post here (I have no idea who PMed him, he just pasted the PMs to me). If you knew me, you'd know that I'd be the last person to boast about that stuff, or anything. Thanks for the kind words, though. Yeah not feeling Mav's mods at all either, but to each his own I guess.

I did notice that people who are just average and aren't diehard fans of cars tend to like my mods. While on the other, people who are hardcore into cars sometimes don't like my mods. But I do tend to please 80% of the people who do see it. The other 20%, I please them with my modded angel eyes. The north and south are orange while the east and west are blue. Really gives a wonderful effect. It's just a shame that I can't get it on camera. It comes up really blurry.

But then again, I made my FX to my taste.

What's up with a hood scoop and the guillotine license plate on the dash?
I mean, I generally don't care what people do to their cars, but a hood scoop?

My license plate position is temporary as I recently purchased the car and have yet to order a plate holder for the front bumper.

Cops don't really care in Austin as long as it is visible in the front. As a matter of fact, DPS encourages others to put it behind the window as a temporary means. This is for Austin only. Not sure about other places.

Scoop is carbon fiber. Looks good up close. But yea, people have been telling me to paint it.


Does it DO anything?! Or is it just cosmetic? I'm crossing my fingers on this one.

It does both actually. It makes the car have an american taste it while at the same time, it's cosmetic. Just incase the next owner doesn't want it, it can revert to it's stock look. I am not going to drop $500 in price in the overall value all because I did something stupid and put a hole in the hood. I spent $44 on the scoop. Now which is more valuable? $44 or $500? So don't give me that,"Does it DO anything?!" crap.

I take offense to that kind of attitude.

it means modifying the airbox to let more air in, I don't know enough about it to explain how to do it since I just went the CAI route, but there are plenty of people who have done it, try searching "fogged" or "fogging" on the forum

Just think of extending the stock air box so it reaches cold air from the fog light area/ducts via tubing. You would extend it with simple everyday materials such as hoses from home depot, some clamps/zip ties.
