Went to change my oil for the first time. Stopped at Pep boys and then auto zone, to pick up the stuff...the book lists the incorrect oil filter for the 95 TI. Physically the cartridge they recommen is to large. I'm going to hit one of the online places to pick up the filter. Has anyone else run into the same thing? Or am I just Looney.

M42 and M44 filters I believe are different.
Maybe they looked up the wrong year?

I actually checked the books myself, and then went for help after I discovered I wasn't dyslexic.
I even tried to check on the 1.9l version from '96 instead in case somebody rigged up a different filter assembly...of course that one wasn't stocked at all!
I think I found a local supplier yesterday. Their prices are in line with the net prices I have run across. Now if I can just get there before they close. Thanks for the help.

I've got a '95 with an M42 engine that takes an M44 oil filter. Just get the filter for a '96 and you'll be fine. If you order online be sure to let Bavarian or whomever know that you need the M44 filter, otherwise they'll ship an M42 part.
All other parts are for an M42.
And I thought it was just me.

Thanks for all the help. I read something about that on one of the forum a pages. Of course when I tried to look it up in the books at the store, that one isn't stocked!
I think I'm on track now! Thanks.

My ti was made in July of '95. I can't speak for the whole year, but the part # above fits in my car.
