Hi, I recently saw a 1996 318ti for sale with 55k miles. I would like to know what is the gas mileage and maintenance on this car. Also how much HP does this car have? Thankx

The car should get about 28- 30 mpg's stock. The rated horsepower is 138, and I think 133 ft/lbs of torque. The service indication lights on the dash will tell you when to service the car. There isn't any set milage because the harder you drive the car, the sooner the computer shows that you need service, and vice versa, the softer you drive the car, the longer between services.

A '96 with only 55k on the Odom. sounds great! what shape is it in? How much are they asking?
Standard trasmission gets better milage than auto - though both are pretty terrible in city driving (I usually get about 23mpg) -
Highway is good - about 30-32.
maintenance isn't too bad - look at some other posts regarding maintenance costs - some guy was asking about it just the other day in fact.

Maintenance hasn't been bad. It cost more money to fix my 1990 Mazda MX6 than the ti.

You did not mention whether it was a base, active or sport. Personally, I only like the sport model. Better suspension, seats and styling.
