I'm fixing to wash out my filter tomorrow. Is it absolutely required to use the K&N applicator or could I just pop it back in after it dries?

What I do for now since I do not have the K&N recharge oil is I use my air compressor and blow all the dirt and dust out of the filter from the top out through the bottom. This way there is still oil on the filter to help catch the dabree.

stop at a garage and ask if they'll blow it out for you, I doubt they'll charge that much

Meh, nvm. I'll just spend $12.99 + tax on the recharger. It's not much, and I don't want to cut any corners.

Meh, it's ok. I had to stop by pepboys anyways to get my dad some oil for his new CBR1000. He just got it today!
