Which Engine would be easier m42/m44

Hello guys,
which of these engines would be easier to supercharge/turbocharge?

I used to own a 98' ti Sport, and right now looking to buy one again but I'd really like to know which engine would be easier to work with. O remember back then the only option that was available was the DASC (back in 2000), but any other engine mods for the m44 were virtually non existent because of OBDII. The other thing is I live in California and emissions would play a big role as well, since the car CA but they are very hard to find...
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The DASC is no longer sold new. You would have to find someone selling a used one. Not too many FI options for the M42/44.

Didn't somebody post a few months ago saying that DA was able to get a few more of the superchargers so they were making it again?

But yeah, for a carb legal solution DASC is the only way to go. It is also the only way to get proper tuning for the DASC. There is no m42 DASC tune. Just the stgIII from NickG.

would I be better off buying a ti with an m44 on it then?
I really don't want to do an engine swap (s52)... That is when I buy a ti :biggrin:

If you are looking to have a ti with more power than stock, the easiest way is to do an engine swap. Maybe you can search around for an already swapped ti.

Even though the kit is listed on their site I don't think they have any available. It is a copy of the DASC with the Magnuson generation 3 supercharger that is no longer made. :mad:
