Hey guys,

I think it would be pretty cool, if we all got together and took some group pictures of our cars for the calendar.

We'd need someone with a good camera and photography skills (Bobby?) and a nice location to meet up. (Ideas?)

I was thinking maybe do it mid-october, that should give people time to figure out schedules and hopefully get a big turnout.

Thoughts?

Hey! Any excuse to have to come up there works for me. But, dude, I'm no professional photographer, but I can bring my tripod and camera up...mid-October sounds good too, I still need to replace my clutch.

Ok, i will let you guys in on a little secret, I am a professional photographer with a problem. That problem being, I don't have a kit. I do have an old SLR, but if someone has a DSLR, i would be more than happy to shoot this. You may ask, "why the F*ck doesn't a pro have a kit?" Well, I am military, they always give me one when I need it... If need be, I might be able to get one for the weekend...

Well this is good news on the photographer. Unfortunately, when I bought my camera, I really wanted a DSLR, but I couldnt afford it. I got mine mainly for taking macro shots of my reef tank, and for taking pictures of my car...

I have a buddy who has a Nikon D something...he is a Subaru guy and takes photos for Subaru events...but I doubt he is down for a trip up there...and I doubt he would let me borrow it :(

But, as far as location, I think, as corny as it is to us, that it should have some sort of monument, representing DC. I think the rest of the guys on the forum would probably think its cool...

Also, is everyone besides me from Maryland?

there's always nice spots in annapolis where i'm from...overlooking the water/state capital/downtown/old windy roads, etc.

It's kinda a far drive though, but i was thinking we could combine a shoot/cruise into one or something. Rt. 450 goes all the way from college park area to annapolis, and gets better the closer you are to annapolis. the area guys from over here could meet and cruise there, and meet with others along the way or something.

just an idea, but you guys said you wanted ideas...

I'd like to go for a cruise, and a run. But the run would be around 3 am haha.(BACK ROADS, I know plenty in my area, my buddies and I go for runs just about every weekend until college started again)

But I know a great spot in Scaggsville, which is right off of 29 near Burtonsville. Maybe we could check Nap town and Scaggsville. I'll take a picture of the scaggsville scene this weekend to see what you guys think.

I ended up thinking it'd be best to just roll into downtown Annapolis. There's good spots down by the dock overlooking the water. Alternatively we could finish our cruise there, grab some eats or something, and then roll to another spot for a picture (like near the state house or something).

We're not even going to leave College Park area until 330 (see the post above yours), so cruising down rt. 450 to Annapolis could take the better part of 45 mins - an hour. Would you be straight with showing up around 430?

I wanted to head downtown for a picture...but there's a boatshow and it might be ridiculously crowded. If that's the case I know another spot under the Naval Academy Bridge, down on the water, that's nice.

So in summary, head downtown, if we can actually get down there, great, if not, then Naval Academy Bridge. My I posted my cell # previously in this thread...go find it, and call me that afternoon and I'll let you know what's up.

Guys, OK, I was watching the news last night. Turns out that there are a few things going on, first you have the Boat show that is going to be taking place all down ego alley. Guys, OK, I was watching the news last night. Turns out that there are a few things going on, first you have the Boat show that is going to be taking place all down ego alley. So, it is now 2:45 and I have yet to hear that my car is ready...The guy was doing my clutch yesterday, then called and said that I have a transmission leak and all of the rubber components (bushings, guibo, etc.) are shot.

So he had to order that stuff and is supposed to finish today...I'm starting to get nervous...otherwise, I'll have to ride with someone :(

RIT is a great school. 97% employment rate sounds good to me! Yeah, Calypso has a lot of range to it depending on the lighting. The pictures were taken at dusk, so at night/cloudy the car has a purple hue, but in direct sunlight can look almost red-orange.

Guys, here is what I came up with. I think that I am going with the first one, I will submit one first thing in the morning. I was trying to bring out the sunset but the camera didn't have enough resolution. I then Photochopped it in, but I didn't want to cause any drama with some of those that go to the extent of making up s/n (or have their cousins vote) so I just did some very minor things to these. Just respond with a 1 or 2 to let me know what you guys like. I will submit tomorrow at around 8 am, hopefully some of you will respond.
