After taking a flip in my Integra, I think I want to get out of the import game. So much money went wasted into my car, which flew into the delta. The ironic part is that I wasn't driving fast at all http://www.happytogether.com/318ti/forum/frown.gif My paintjob was a month old. I had shaved sidemoldings/emblems/antenna, Wings West front lip, AEM Cold Air Intake, Nuespeed Header, Apex WS exhaust, Dinan Reprogrammed chip, Eibach Prokit springs, Tokiko shocks, Nuespeed Rear lower tie bar, rear strut bar, the list goes on.. How I survived..the story can saved for later..

I think I want to look for a clean used 318ti and do a small drop and put some Racing Hart c2 wheels on it. I don't have the money to get the BBS RX http://www.happytogether.com/318ti/forum/frown.gif

Anyways, are there any websites that have tips on what to look for when buying a 318ti? Anyone have tips? I don't know anything about German cars, since I've been into the Hondas for so long..

Look for a late "sport" model with less than 45k on the clock. That would be a good start. If you can find one, the '95 Club Sports are great and well on their way to being tuned (LSD, OBDI Program, suspension, etc.)

Welcome to the fold!

If I were you, I would search for either a '95 Club Sport, or a 318ti Sport. The sport suspension, the Limited Slip Diff (in the CS), and the M-technik body kit are nice options on my Club Sport that I intend to leave stock, so that I can invest my money in other stuff, like a chip, exhaust, etc.. I would personally try to look for a '95 Ti, since the OBDI makes the M42 engine "chippable," which is good for another 10 hp and up to 20 trq. If you want to drastically change the suspension, and put a different body kit on the car, then it doesn't really matter what model you get. Be sure to check the introduction to the TI on the website to see which options are available for the TI you want. Good Luck.

I'm going to look at a 97 Premium package with the California top on friday.

What does "sport suspension" mean? Is it just a different set of springs? Can I see some pics of the M-technik stock body kit?

Does the 1.8L to 1.9L make a difference? I would think that the 1.9L would have considerably more torque, which is nice to have in a slow car.

I am not planning to mod out the BMW, I just want to cruise..but a better suspension setup and a body kit would be nice. I mean, come on, I ran 14s with bolt ons in my Integra, while I would need a supercharger to break 15s in the 318ti.

Maybe an M3 motor will be put in, but it won't be for a LONG time http://www.happytogether.com/318ti/forum/smile.gif

thanks!

If you are looking at a California ti then it's going to have a M44 1.9 liter since the open air roof wasn't available in '95. There wasn't that much of a difference between the M42 and M44.

The M-Technic package is at the top of this page.

Well, I'm not real sure where Concord is located in CA.But airfare is cheap these days,(and safe, I oughta know, unfortunately I cannot jumpseat, I'm FAA). The car is in great shape, I am getting the oil service done Monday, along with a few nit-picking warranty items. My wife and I recently had a kid, so we need something alot bigger. I was gonna advertise it in the next couple of weeks, then go look for a cool mini-van http://www.happytogether.com/318ti/forum/frown.gif

Thay's cool Lee, If you do find on local, I would suggest the 1.9L, and while the sport package and other stuff is nice, I would look for low mileage and codition over anything else. Carfax is great and the dealer can check it's service history using the VIN #, if it was serviced by the dealer. Good luck man, it's a great little car.
