Hi, I'm looking at getting the H&R anti-roll/sway bar kit but my car has no rear sway at all (base 316) and so I don't have all the linkages and mounts.
My main concern is how the bushing mounts are meant to be connected, would they be bolt on or require more work?
Cheers

What you mean no rear sway bar?

it's possible that his car didn't come with one if it's a base 316i, although I don't really know all of the little quirks and options of the Euro-spec compacts

Bolt on... at least for the US spec... I doubt it would be different...

I would think that even without a factory installed swaybar, it would still have the mounting points for one, are you maybe just not noticing them? post a pic of the underside of the car if you can, maybe we can notice something you're missing

One of my sway bar attachments broke awhile back. I bought 2 new MZ3 brackets from the dealer, and had a shop weld them in. I also had the Turner reinforcement tabs welded in. This picture shows the H & R MZ3 sway bar I added, with adjustable end links. Just buy the brackets and have them welded in.

Possibly not the best photo but this seemed the likeliest point when I looked into it a while back:

I can see what looks like the bolt holes for the links on the trailing arms so that seems straight forward.
Hopefully will make a nice big improvement to handling:biggrin:

Nope. You are looking to far forward. Look at l8's picture. The part where the sway bar bushings attach is more towards the rear of the car, above and immediately in front of where the spare tire would be.

Thanks, just had a look under the car do the bush mountings bolt to these brackets?

That looks like the bracket to me... I'd take a pic of mine as I have the rear sway removed as well as the spare tire removed, but my car isn't with me at the moment.
