Strange Gauge

I'm New to both the forum and owning a TI. What is the little Green, Yellow and Red, LED gauge that comes on only during startup? It is located directly under the Odometer?

This is the indicator for the maintenance system.

When all green lights are illuminated, you're fine. As you drive, according to your driving style, engine temp and mileage, the green lights will go out gradually, finally leaving a yellow light on. It will then tell you whether you need an oil service or an inspection service. Check the owner's manual for the details on these services.

If you don't have the service done and the lights reset, a red light will illuminate telling you you're overdue for service.

It's a handy system... making it less necessary to keep track of your mileage and what you did to the car when...

Second questions to you and anyone else reading. Is their a place I can get a copy of a owners manual, my '95 was missing it.

I don't care about condition or quality or print(copies whatever)

Try the dealer first... maybe eBay... otherwise, try the "want to buy" sections various BMW forums, like this one.

Check ebay items 1813051887 and 1812911704. They're both for a '96 ti but might be pretty close to the '95 manuals.
