hello. just woundering if anyone else has done this. i was able to get my hands on an m3 engine, 333, drive train and comp for 7 grand. and i dropped it in my '97 318ti. just curious if anyone else did this. i keep on hering that someone put a supercharger or turbo on it. but that only took about a second off at the track. i have yet to take it down, im still workin on it. any replys would be nice. thank you.

Many people have put M3 motors in their ti.
I have a 328ti and know of another one. I've seen a 325ti conversion.

You want to supercharge an M3 motor in a ti?
Why?

What have you done about brakes?

What did you do for an exhaust?
I have a 328ti with twin cats.
I am not happy with the rigged system I have.

The exaust was something my local guy did. When we first ran the car we put a huge exaust on there. It was quiet, but it was huge, you could see it well below the body kit. The new exaust was just something he had in stock, which I think adds more to the stock look we wanted.

They now sell completely fabricated Supersprint exhausts for the ti with m50/52 engine swaps. www.bmpd.com (http://www.bmpd.com) (expensive!)If doing the ti swap I strongly urge using M3 brakes they perform better than if on an M3.(300+lb lighter car!)

I am in the middle of doing this swap myself.
I have a '98 (sport)which I will be installing a '98 M3 3.2l into within the next month or two.

I'm keeping OBD-II in my car, which makes it a bit trickier. Did you as well, or did you convert to OBD-I?

Just curious. It won't affect my decision to keep OBD-II.
