Hi all,
yea bought a black Ti 2 days ago and i'm chuffed with my car!
its bog standard with 16" alloys, sunroof and full alarm. 140k with full history and set me back £900, thats cheap over here.
(dont know what you guys pay) aint got a picture yet but I shall be putting some on soon!
it's the m44 1.9L lump and i think its a smooth puller, certainly quiet from the drivers seat.
I'm going to be putting the sound system in from by old car(wil probably take up most of the boot with twin 12" subs)
the fog lights will be replaced and i will probably get some xenon bulbs aswel.

The car could do with a service so any advice on this would be useful (im gonna use the 10w40 oil- seems to suit british weather)

so yeah thats me!

oh and as you probly guessed, my names richard:p

welcome, sounds like a nice car, 2 12"s will definitely fill the trunk (aka "boot" ;))

Hey Rick. Car sounds nice. And 900 quid is definitely cheap. Good find. As far as maintenance items go, I just did a full service on my car and as I'm sitting here typing, am in the middle of completing some more work. Some items to start with:

Air filter
Oil filter (oil change)
Anti-freeze/Coolant drain & fill
Gearbox drain & fill
Differential drain & fill
Fuel filter
PCV/Crankcase Vent Valve (CVV)
Interior cabin air filters

Run through a [good] fuel system cleaner. This should get your MPGs back up to a good level. Right now I'm also replacing the shift bushings which is a big job but not that bad. I've done 1 car before and it's like getting a new transmission. Just feels sooo smooth. As for the oil change, I think in England you can get the Castrol Edge stuff. I may be wrong on the name but from what I hear, it comes in a green bottle.

yea well i used to work at halfords so i'll get all the stuff cheap enough(kept my trade card :p )
cheers for the info. ive already got sum semi sinthetic 10-40 so i will just stick that in, i only do about 7k a year anyway so will be changed again soon enough.
I hear the maf and lambda sensors can get a bit dirty too?
is it a good idea to give these a bit of a clean aswel?
