Let me preface this by telling you that in this part of SoCal we see about 20 days of cold+rain a year.
That leaves 300+ days a year of beating sunshine and humidity under 20%.
Yesterday was the first time in 6months+ that I did not drive my car or even start it.
Yesterday also happened to be the first day in about 8 months that it rained.
Today was the coldest day that we have seen in about 8 months also.
(it was so cold that I had to wear a sweater out during the day, and I had to start a fire at about 3pm cause it was so damn cold(thats like below 50))
Tonight when I went to start my car it chugged a bit and then died, 3 or 4 times, throwing the CEL
It acted just like my sisters 74 karmann ghia every morning, where you need to give it some gas for 25-30sec before you haul ass down the driveway to build a little heat.
Once it got warm it was fine.
The engine is in great condition, but after reading other posts about dying engines, im sure that the spark plugs, icu, tb and fuel filter need cleaning or changing, which i will be doing before the end of the year.
Any tips from you cold weather ppl I should know about?
