Resetting LED Lights

Need some help resetting the LED lights on a 1998 318ti. Is there any particular website that would be helpful or can anyone provide the steps??

Is the tool the only way to do it on an OBDII car?
On my ti (and e30, for that matter), all you have to do is jump socket 7 (I think) on the diagnostic plug...
