car alarm problems

hi i have problems with my car alarm, i bought a used 95' ti with a factory alarm and the alarm has the double lock and stuff but when i try to arm the alarm..it takes a while, like i have to push down really hard and wait a while and i have to keep trying. whats wrong?

I have been having a problem with my alarm lately. It just started going off one day. I have verified that that switches to the doors, trunk are all good ( I am an engineer). At one point, with all doors closed, that alarm engaged and then about 10 secs. later started indicating that it had been triggered. Could the module have gone bad? Know where I can get one?
