I finally convinced my assistant manager to race me after work with his '02 Sebring. So we pull up to a red light. I shift it into sport mode. I roll down the window and make a "L" sign with my hand, which actually stands for "first person to light 1 is ftw". Then I roll up the window. The light then turns green, and I get a good car's length jump on him. I slowly gain more and more inches off of him. I hit the light at about 90mph, with 2-3 cars length. Victory lights, made a U-turn, and went home. I can now once again sleep peacefully.

Who needs a 2.7L v6 when you can get a 1.9L il4.
Both cars auto.

i guess ur in your premature state of not realizing that the 318ti is not a drag car but a fuel efficient, spacious, and sleek looking car. anyways my point is that drag racing is stupid and dangerous

Spacious? absolutely not. It was at 9:30 on a vacant 1 way road. Only reason there is a light is because of a train tracks. While your at it, go tell these guys also that "drag racing is stupid and dangerous": http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=124

I'm sure we all haven't heard it before.

Are you effing kidding me????!??!?!?!?!?!

90mph on a public street with traffic (since you did mention traffic light)?! Jesus Christ! Not to say that street between take off light to light "1" must have been a very loooong street to hit 90mph on that ti.

Maybe I shouldnt have sold you that intake :frown:

Oh it was long street alright. But it doesn't take me more than 2 miles to reach 110mph. Though it does take a really long time on the last gear.

I'm 18. Drag racing is bound to happen with me sooner or later. Like bobbak said, I'm in a premature state. And you honestly can't be to surprised. Take a look at my profile's background picture lol.

I hope to god so. I'll admit it, it's a really bad addiction. And I know for a fact it's gonna end up some how bad if I keep it up. Another friend told me that he grew out of it after 1 year. We'll it has been 2 years so far, and I'm still doing it. I know it may sound stupid but is there a AA for speeders? Defence driving didn't really have a effect on me.

Maybe getting a e34 is a bad idea... =\

Spacious? absolutely not.

I would argue that our cars are pretty spacious. Sure it's no 7-series but I love sitting in the backseat of my car. I am always blown away at how comfortable it is. My friends never complain...which is amazing...and I don't have to move my seat forward when someone sits behind me. For such a small looking car I think the inside is surprising.

Oh yeah and you shouldn't street race.

Oh yeah and you shouldn't street race.:wink:I fit a whole 318ti hood in my cargo area with the back seats folded down:biggrin: And Bobby was able to fit a complete set of 318ti seats in his, although he did leave one of his front seats with me so I could steal a part off of it, but there was plenty of room to spare in both cases.

As for racing, we've all done it. Just don't make it a habit and be smart about it. BTW, bald tires:no:

Jess, I now hate you again :_pissed: lol jk

a public street with traffic (since you did mention traffic light)?!

wait, so because there was a "traffic" light, you assume that there was "traffic"? not sure if I'm following your logic, especially since the post before yours clearly says the road was vacant

Maverix
01-03-2009, 04:25 AM
If there's no cars rolling on that street "at all" there would be no need for traffic lights. And yes I am going to assume there must have been some kind of traffic. And that is what i was assuming. And that whole "that post before yours says it was vacant" must have come in as I was typing my reply.

Please don't start with me. Just leave it alone. Drop it. Move on. I hope you can understand. I DO NOT want to continue going back and forward. Like i said, that's what i was assuming (before that "post" came in). Either way, street racing is ftl.

The traffic light is for a train that passes through.

Either way it still wasn't a closed coarse. Train would be considered traffic.

I think both jess and I should reconsider letting you drive our cars.

I was gonna argue this point but then I realized you specified drag racing. Because road racing (on a track of course) 4 cyl cars can actually be very exciting.

The next time we race, it's gonna be down Old Spicewood Springs Rd. Though I'm gonna need someone in the car to record it. Because that road is not "drag racing" type of road

tell that to my best friend who is 6 foot 3, he hates it when he's in the back seat. but i will hand it to the space for the driver; being 6 foot 2 i sit comfortably reclined with the seat scooted as far forward as it will go

The ti has plenty of space in the front. Though in the back, just like every other hatch coupe, the leg space is limited. Though it's not like it really matters since I never have anyone in the back seats. But when I do, a lot of people are surprised at the amount if space there is in such a small car. And it's funny how people think the ti is smaller the m3. Our trunks door wider than the m3

I have fit a couple of sacks of cement, buckets, shovels, washing brushes all at once in the Ti. Folding down the seats creates alot of room in the car.

Street racing is a no no in my book. I used to be in it when i was younger until i was involved in an accident while doing it. It's not worth it, i spent thousands of dollars because of that. I was lucky that i got out without a scratch. In the end you get nothing out of it, there's always going to be a faster car.
