I want to get 17" wheels & tires. My car is lowered about 1.5" & 1.0" with Eibach springs. Tirerack tells me that 215/45/17 is as wide as I can go, without rolloing fenders. I want 225/45/17. Anybody have any problems with 225's on a lowered car? Any info. greatly appreciated.

When my car was lowered I had 235x40x17 on them. I had just enough clearance to get my fingers between the tire and body. But thee was no problems rubbing.

Only problem with a lowered car is that you need nice streets. Otherwise it's no fun going over speed bumps, driveways, crowned roads.

Steven,
Thanks for that.... but that kinda' begs another thought that I've had. The lowered car is a bit "firm" in the ride department. Would 17" wheels added to the setup make the ride too harsh? Maybe I should scale back to 16" and save my dental work. I think I can still get some great looking wheels (16")and save some dough to boot.
Man, I just can't seem to get a grip on this!!! OH well, if anybody has thoughts either way, I'd like to hear them.

Thanks!!

17s will give you a firmer ride. My 17s are getting beat up though. Lots of road rash. I have 2 sets of 95 Motorsport wheels. My track set looks almost as bad as my street set.

I've gotten use to it.
