What is the largest wheel and tire combo that i can fit under my TI without having to "tub" out the fender wells or without rolling the fenders.. Thanks
Go to tirerack.com and put your car in.
If you have the sport package, the largest (also most expensive) tire set you could fit is Mille Miglia MM11-2 Sport wheel 18x8 (front) with 225-40/18 tire.
For the rear, same wheel in 18x9 with (the ultra-expensive) 245-35/18 (that's about a 9.7 inch cross section F'n HUGE)
They may have other wheeles at 9 inches for the rear, but the cost is crazy. These wheeles are (fairly) cheap, and I think they look great. They have a grey metallic paint that looks nice. Just add the BMW center caps, and you're all set. They could be chromed (yuck), or painted another color as well.
Total for the tires and wheels is $1706 for matching front and rear tires (Pirelli PZero Direzionale). You can get cheaper fronts, but I wanted the tires to match all around. That rear size is EXPENSIVE. It's aparently a corvette size, and fairly low demand.
Good luck!

the most I would run is an 8.5" wide rim all around....second stretching to a 9" rear is IMHO POINTLESS! on thr ti if you are not running FI then why the expense? I also wouldn't go wider than a 235 all around that way you can rotate the tires evenly. this is just my opinion, on the ti you really don't have the need for any serious amount of rubber and the understeer created by the staggered setup just would make the car handle like pooh. But it's all about preference I guess.
I would agree, it's nice to be able to rotate tires front to back. (I do mine now every 25K) I have 67K on the original Michelins, and plenty to go.
I'm doing the 3.2 M conversion, so the more rubber, the merrier. I do not have forced induction for it. Big tires come AFTER the motor for me.
Ben Liaw is telling me you can fit 255's if you find the right offset. I'm just going by what tire rack reccomends...
AND you HAVE to have huge tires. Even if the four can't spin them. They LOOK COOL, and that's all that matters.... Right???
The car will actually be SLOWER with the new, bigger tires. Bare that in mind...
