What is the best way to replace the paint chips and get a good color match?

I'm assuming it's a chip on the hood.
There are steps to do it right.

It was something like thinning out the paint and applying repeatedly. Then I suppose do the same with the clear coat.

Personally, paint chips are going to happen.
Live with it for a few years and have the whole hood repainted once there are more paint chips. You can't be obsessed with it. It will drive you crazy.

I kind of like my paint chips. Makes it look like a RACE CAR!!!!!!!

Anyway, if you want to fix chips and not paint the entire panel, e-mail me and I'll walk you through it. It does take some time, so plan on an all day affair.

I had a buisness making custom guitars a few years ago, and know a fair number of paint tricks. Painting cars for years helps too...

Also, there was an aurticle in Bimmer magazine, last issue or the one before it, that had an excellent write-up on these techniques. If you can get that, you don't need me. Just take your time, and follow the instructions in the magazine.
