I'm going up to D.C. for a month to visit some family and I was wondering if anyone here has a 6cyl. ti in that area. I'd really like to get a look at one of those babies. I was thinking of doing the swap myself, but I've got a quite a few questions to ask. So if anyone with a compact6 is in the D.C. Area and can spare like half an hour, I'd be eternally grateful. :)

I'd definitely like to see one in this area too. After seeing some of the swaps online, I'd love to have one myself.

Come to a National Capital Chapter (http://www.nccbmwcca.org) autocross. I usually have my 328ti but don't always run. There is also a 325ti that shows up.

Steven,

Any pics of your car? Where did you get the engine swap done?

The previous owner did the swap. Read his story here (http://happytogether.com/318ti/notebook/328ti/).

Wow, I had no idea you bought his car. I e-mailed Stephen a couple of times asking about his car and he said he sold it. Pretty cool his car made it all the way to the DC area. I loved reading his story...makes me want to go out and get a Compact 6. You wouldn't happen to know of anyone selling one, would ya? :D

Next month it will be 3 years since I totalled my 98 ti. Once the car was declared a total loss I emailed Stephen. I always wanted that car. We flew down to Miami and drove it back.

I do see 6 cylinder compacts for sale from time to time. There is one in the for sale (http://www.happytogether.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=730#730) section right now.

But I don't know if you want to do the extra travel just to see it.

It's a '98 with a '99 motor. You may have seen my posts here.

I't is normally on long island (not too far) but is currently in hibernation/upgrading in CT at my shop.

This past weekend I installed a complete M roadster rear sub-frame assembly. This includes diff, brakes, trailing arms etc...

I will have another booklet available in the future (not as elaborate as the engine book) for purchase.

Anyway, if you want to se one done with ALL FACTORY PARTS (except the brake lines and flywheel) mine is available. Let me know.
