Coolant system bleeding

hi,

i'm about to bleed the coolant off the radiator of my 1995 318ti. the manual mentions to loose the engine block drain plug. does anybody have a picture or something to show where that plug is? the manual only has a picture of the radiator drain plug but not the block drain plug

I flushed my system today for the first time. I almost gave up trying to locate that damn engine drain plug. It's accessible by laying under the left (passenger) side of the engine. It's just behind the exhaust manifold (think that's what it's called... where the exhaust connects to the engine). The drain is mounted at an angle towards the driver's side. I used a 3/4inch socket. I'm not sure if your m42 is the same as my m44, but I hope this helps
