I've been told about a resitor that you can put on your ECU that "tells your ECU that the air is cold and therefore advances your timing..." Highly skeptical, but thought I would see what any of you have heard...

Thanks.

um..

actually it's a resistor on the air temp sensor (if i'm not mistaken)..

Does anyone have the Value of the resistor to put on the Air Temp Sensor. I put a custom cold air intake and I have nowhere to put the temp sensor so it is just chillin in the engin bay (not good). Need to know the right value to put in there so it will advance the timing just a little bit.

isnt the air temp sensor built into the airflow meter? im not sure how 96 and on ti's are but on my 95 it is built into the airflow meter and im assuming you are still using that.

NO, I still have the MAF - I think the air temp sensor is a little piece that stuck into the airbox, the sensor it's selft is about the same Diamiter as a Pencil and about 1.5 - 2 inches long.

Yes, the sensor just hangs when you put a CAI on. I punched a small hole in the top of the K&N, then secured the sensor with a little silicone to make sure it sealed tight.

Actually it depends what kind of CAI you have - I put one on my 98 last night that had the sensor already plugged in, directly behind the air filter.

yea there is no place on the CAI to put this thing, I don't know - I guess I could drill a hole :? - But I would still like to know what that value of the resistor is. I have a friend with a 99 Camaro SS and it was like a 2.2K Ohm and it advanced the timing just a little like it was allways getting very cold air. (More Performance) :)
