What can I say, I've been spoiled in my current '86 325es :( and I'm balking at buying the 318ti I'm looking at, largely because I'm going to miss my OBC!!!
What would I need to find (ebay is my friend) and how bad would it be to install?
Would foglights be similar?
At the same time, I might as well ask if I've found a good deal. It's a 1995 base 318ti, 2 new tires, 2 at 50% (michelins), alignment recently checked and new front brakes. Appears to be meticulasly (sp?) maintained (all at dealer or a local high end shop) and has 131K miles, almost all highway. Has 15" alloys, 5 speed, sunroof and CD player. Fabric seats, no OBC, no foglights. Asking $6500.

It is possible to install the on board computer but it is limited in comparison real OBCs.
MPG
Miles to empty
outside temp
Average speed
I know I've seen installation instructions somewhere for the BC. I can't find them at the moment.
Fog lights are a PITA to install.

The price is pretty low.
Also keep in mind this does not have the sport suspension
BUT If you want to install the sport suspension, I have all the parts available as of this note... :D
And yes, adding fog lights (and having it look 'factory') is a PITA. :x The BMW's are equipped with a specific wiring harness for the particular options of that particular car, so it's NEVER 'plug-n-play' when adding factory options. No extra wires hanging about.

Well the Bc info is encouraging, these options offered are the ones I'm looking for.
Hmm, who ever would have thought fogs lights would be so difficult.
The wires are just not in the harness. They are also rigged to turn off automatically when the hi-beams are activated.
If you don't care about that, you can purchase the lights (Hella makes them as well) and a new or used switch and dash piece to mount it in the correct location (oppisite the headlight switch, on the other side of the cluster) for a factory look. The switch looks just like the headlight switch (but is a different switch).

Woo hoo, I just found out the 318ti I was looking at not only had the base OBC (my oversight, I figured it would have more buttons, like my 325es) but it also has a limited slip differential.
Man, suddenly driving the '86 325es seems rougher and rougher... but man I'll miss the inline 6, makes driving so effortless ...
We have ways of correcting that cylindrical diffeciency...

i've never been caught flatfooted in my car by anything short of a turbo-six or a v8.
