I am wondering if any of you know where to run wires through the firewall? I am getting a new amp, and subs, which will run independantly of the factory amp. I will be using 4 guage wire from the battery to the rear of the car, which will require some insane amount of ripping everything out of the car and putting it all back in, but I can't seem to find a place to run the wire through the firewall(this could possibly the most difficult part). From what I can tell, without really getting in there are pulling everything apart, it seems like the factory wires run through the firewall behind the battery. not sure though... any help?
Thanks

I will also post pics of the install for anyone who wants to see how to do it, once I figure it out of course, so your help would be appreciated!

yeah just take out the battery box and poke a hole in that rubber "membrane". there should be some empty holes already started if i am not mistaken. all you have to do is poke a hole in them with a clothes hanger or something. after that, just take out the glovebox and the trim under it and thats where the wire will pop through. then you can just run it under trim and carpet to the back. its pretty convenient. took no more than an hour to run all the wires and put everything back together.

Along the same lines:

The ti has a knock-out in the firewall just like all the other E36 cars with the battery in the trunk. This is below the battery box. You can get a nice cable to easily reach the trunk which has a perfectly molded rubber boot to fit in the knock-out from the dealer.

This cable goes under the carpeting to the trunk area. You will have to get creative once past the front seats, as the rear of the ti is different from the coupe`/sedan, but I think you can handle that.

You will have a perfectly neat job (under the hood at least)...
