Granted I have yet to own a ti, but when I do, I want to do angel eyes. I was told those kind of headlights were required to do so... Is that true, if not, what is needed, and what kind of cost am I looking at?

thanks

That price is a little easier for me to swallow, still a lot of dough, but I could manage to come up with that.... once I have the car of course....

You can get the non-Xenon Angel Eyes with the Euro glass lenses from www.bavauto.com for $549. www.turnermotorsports.com has them also for $589. The ones at turner are made by Hella and I believe the BavAuto are Inpro.

bmpd is www.bmpd.com

you can go there and have a catalog delivered to you. i believe the catalog has more in it than does the site. they have some decent prices compared to bavauto.com and other sites i've seen.

Well, the reason i'd take the Bekkers kit over the BavAuto one is... The Bekkers kit is original hella, and it's all plug and play. The BavAuto one makes no such promises, and for the extra money i'd rather get something that works with factory reliability and plugs right in.

i believe the euro lights in BMPD are authentic BMW. i guess the "halo" is fitted to the origional light seperatly because i dont think any e36 came with those even in europe. you CAN get a reproduction euro light from BMPD and they claim it is comparable to the authentic light in quality. and they are about 100 bucks cheaper. but thats up to you. when my time comes i'll get the reproductions

again, why I'd go for the Hella kit..

1) It's Hella dude, like, Hella Cool (ok, i know that was bad, but I HAD to).
2) They're Hella, like in high german quality.
3) They come with a wiring harness that takes either Euro or US, no cutting plugs or any of that crap.
4) Reliability. A friend of mine got the "make it yourself-everything is included kit" and it worked great, for like a month. After that the quality went degrading little by little until it pooped out. Worse of all, the way the rings are installed didn't let the hi-beam bulbs go in all the way, so they were always crooked.

That's why when I have the money for it, I'm gonna spend the extra bucks for the quality and save myself a loooota time

Tell ya what, do what I did. Go to www.procarparts.com They have the angel eyes on there. I bought mine about 3 months ago and they only cost me $230.00 They are great, I love them, easy to install and have had no problems. They are the projector lights with the angel eyes, so they aren't some cheapy thing. They work just as good, and look just as good as any $1500 set. Trust me on this, that site is pretty cool, and pretty cheap as far as after market stuff. I just ordered a set of fog lamps for my car yesterday actually from there. $60 for both lights and the whole assembly? Wires and everything, not too bad if I do say so myself... Check it out though if you want those lights cheap, but not a rip off...

Those home made Angel Eyes are pretty cool. That is basically all there is to them.

I found my set of Hella Angel eyes complete with elipsoid lenses, glass housing and chromed out interior, sealed in the box brand new from germany for $400 + shipping. came with ALL necesary parts and english instructions that were easy to follow. found on E-Bay with careful searching and reviewing of auctions. They didnt even need the supplied adapter for other 3 series headlights. on the ti they just plug right in! Instructions even have speacial side note for installing into a compact. I'll post a picture soon. they're awesome! :D
